There's only one way you could make this exhaust bolt bracket installation more fun and that's by wearing a gimp suit while fiddling around looking for those bolt holes. Picked up bolts from below the car almost 50 times in total. Tip; start with the bottom bolt, you can sorta just hang the bracket in its gravitational angle, then swing it back up once threaded. Tighten top bolt first and finally torque down the bottom bolt from below the car. You can actually reach it with a ratchet spanner. Oh and that cabin heat shield will cut up your knuckles something fierce, you might want to take it off just for the convenience of it.

That being said it's night and day difference sound wise, slightly exagerrating but I want to say I can almost only hear the belt spinning when idling and the hood open.

Those Dorman clamps DO make a big difference. I have both styles left over, if anyone wants mine. Just pay shipping.

Not blood red, but not too burnt up, and minimal schmoo on the magnet. I only did a drain and refill with the new filter.

About 3 years ago I did a drain/refill, drive for 10 mins, then drain/refill again w/new filter. Between the fluid pump and the small amount in the pan (no mess on my face!) it was as near to 6qts. to make no difference.

Cleaned everything up, reinstalled the pan & bolts to 80in./lb., and added back 5qts. of Valvoline Max life synthetic stuff. I'll check the level tomorrow and add as needed, unless I was high before.

Got you, homie. You'll just need to source the other bolts, if yours are bad. I honestly don't remember if I just reused the bolts on the engine, or used all the included Dorman bolts. Either way, the install is self-explanatory, but might sück with the tight space behind the driver's cylinder head.

This is on my list of things to do.

Yes, I plan on setting up a waste oil heater for winter.
And eventually the entire shop will be super insulated.
A small portable diesel heater will work in a pinch until you get a waste oil heater up and running. Still on the finding schematics stage with mine, but those tiny 8kw diesel heaters saved our coops last winter when electric heating made no sense financially.

I will disagree with your battle. You would have been better of to replace the hardware altogether along with the gasket versus doing the Dorman shuffle. Personal preference thing though I suppose.

Ok…who can help me with a torque spec?

Installed the tru-cool 40k a while back, but now am switching to AN lines coming out of the cooler. Whats the torque specs for adding -06 AN to 1/2” NPT fittings?

I’m looking for the specs at the cooler, not the -06 AN to hose specs. Those are tightened until they stop leaking and then just a little bit more.
