me in comparison to my kids, I was gone miles away sometimes by sun up, no cell phone they didn't exist
I could easily have traveled 60 miles on any given day on my bike, less if on foot obviously usually it was combo of the two
I was def free range always out exploring, fishing, hiking, camping, etc

Same. Once we had our licenses, we would tell our mothers we were going to the beach. They were thinking it was 11 miles away, we were in Marathon or Key West for the day! LOL We lived in Fort Lauderdale back then.

4.10s installed. Just took it out for a test drive and it’s so much better. Really helps the 4l80 out

Time to swap the final broken handle (2/4 swapped so far and some curse words because I started with the driver's door and now later I realize the darn door speaker's silent)
I put the door panel over the lockrod and shut the door. Wouldn't open!
Found out you can remove the rear door panel, with door shut..

Then I forgot to replace one of the rubber plugs.

Then I decided to put sound deadener inside the door skins.. got my hands and forearms all cut up..

Once you start pulling door panels, there's no stopping...

285/45. They're on now and I couldn't be happier. Going to get some pictures when the sun sets a little.
So factory size.

What drop are you running?

I just went back down to 4/6 after I finally wore out the 305/40 Michelins at around 80k miles. Had to lift it up to a 2/4 because those wide tires scrubbed too much.

I went with a 275/45 Michelin this time.

I was originally running a 285/40 and I think it was perfect but Michelin doesn't offer that size in the Defender line.

It just never ends :D
Worst part is that exact day I thoroughly explained to a friend how you can test a 12volt fan using a 9 volt battery.

Turns out that little battery can also test for a blown out speaker. Connect its polarities to a speaker's and if the speaker is fine it'll make movement, if blown it won't.

Just thought I'd mention since haggling for used speakers or fans that little 9 volt battery can prove to be quite the money saver

It’s technically about 2.5/6.25 by the numbers. I usually say about 3/6. It rubs a little up front but not bad. I clearanced the liners years ago when I had 305/35/24

Can you post a front angle shot so we can see the tires in relation to the body?

yeah I'll try to get one when I'm home. Really happy with the fitment. They look identical to me front and rear. Tire is pretty flush with the fender. The widest part of the tires stick out a tiny bit (maybe 1/8 max - probably more like 1/16).

Initially I had a moment and put the +20 wheels up front. I was pretty concerned when they were sticking out so much but relieved to realize I was just an idiot.

Still waiting on the rear control arms to center the axle front/rear.

Trying to baby these gears for the first couple hundred miles but I wanna stomp on it so bad. The 4.10s combined with the wheels/tires being 11 lbs lighter per corner seriously woke it up. Those changes more than make up for the heavy front rotors and 4l80. Feels pretty nimble

Rear door got stuck again... The lock doesn't feel positive like the others.
Thinking I screwed up the latch.. $200 mistake putting the door panel over the lock rod..

Door panel coming off again!
