Do you have a p/n for that thermostat?

And you don’t have to use the British accent, some of us grew up pronouncing it that way. The number of strange looks I’ve received over the years. Usually at first people think I’m joking with them. Some have looked it up, others prob think the university degrees hanging in my office are honorary. Ha! Honestly it’s hard to pronounce it like they do in America. I have to slow myself down to pronounce it “incorrectly”.

Can one of you give a quick run down on that timing and how it’s pulled/added +/- with the temp?
MOTORAD 523174

Aluminium does sound more exotic and scientific than dumdum aluminum.
Con-trover-sy or contro-versy?

That map is said to modify spark timing relative to coolant temp.
Maps like that interpolate. Which is why I figure at 203 degrees, halfway between 194 and 212. [(0) + (-3)] / 2 *should* be -1.5 degrees @203 coolant temp. Have not verified, not sure I can isolate that parameter to log. So far temps are below 190 with any movement, fan set to 195, so I may never get that hot again.

Maybe more importantly, change the fan settings from the stock 201degF. Probably never gets that hot except idling anyway.
Once you start moving, temps drop fairly quickly.

Think it might be the bearing race for the pinion yoke? Or does it sound more internal?

Edit: looks like you found the answer before we armchair diagnosed it. Disregard the need to respond.

Mine is in need of the same thing. Not something I feel like doing myself. Plus I’m debating going with a different AWD 3.42 ring gear setup.
I could hear the what I think was the ring growling, definitely a rotational noise. I did replace the rear brakes a couple months ago and thought when it first started doing it that it might be a sticky caliper or something but it changed fairly rapidly within a couple days to a deceleration noise, coasting from 40mph by 30-20 you could really hear it, applying brake made no difference.
I should have it back in a couple days if not sooner 4wheel parts doesn't mess around. I made the appt with them last week then parked it.

I have been driving the Silverado then the wife took it Monday and called me because there was fluid leaking out all over the ground, turned out to be transmission fluid from the trucool I installed with the supplied rubber lines, one of the lines was leaking so I patched that up and ordered 6an lines and fittings so that won't happen again I should have done it already because I knew they would leak eventually like they did on the Yukon. took about 4-5 years though.
Funny the transmission fluid made a hell of a mess and puddles on the ground but I don't think it lost more than a pint because that's all I added and it's 100% full, checked it multiple times.

oo I have that one! Fingers crossed it will not interfere with the cargo grate that's gonna arrive on wednesday so that I can finally get rid of this godawful "separate cargo space" loophole solution that is a literal cargo pallet in the trunk

Tight fit but it works. Sadly I never checked if you are supposed to be able to recline the second row backrests, but won't be disassembling to find out. Feels a lot safer to drive around now as well as being the perfect excuse to finally get a dog.

Do the 3rd row seats still install back there.... for the kids?

Had this vinyl sitting around for a while and finally got around to this project i wanted to try.
It's an ok match to the original but not perfect. If it lasts, i'll try to find a better match and redo it later. For now its ok with me.

I like that way better than original! Been wanting to do something like that but can't find the perfect grain. Or time and energy.

Also, this cupholder discussion got me thinking.
I have a front row bench (suckers!) with three cupholders but want more. Anyone know of a mini console that can sit on the tranny hump? Or other ideas?

Technically it's,,, ohh i see what you did there.
Actually that's a great point! I need to figure out a way to open the rear hatch from the inside now, anyone know of a good fix?

There is a manual release built into the door, ya just have to drill a hole in the plastic….

That sounds cool, like one of those reset buttons back in pocket PC days that you tried to find the proper sized stick to press. My interior panel oddly does not have a lining mark for a drill hole but I'll figure it out somehow. Anyone tried installing a button there by any chance?

Wow, it was a tiny little indent dot in the pattern! I'm used to a circle with protruding ring and smooth inside for these optional drill hole situations. My bad. Thanks!
ya some have more of a indent than others, but they all have it
I have drilled a few out in the junkyard while parts hunting

I have a raised ring, this what I'm looking for?
It's off center, aligned with the edge of the latch. 1-3/8" from edge. 2012 if they changed it
