I tried jacking up the front with a piece of wood under the corner, and jumped up and down on my pushbumper.
It only bent the corner slightly. Hammered it.. ugly.. Used some painters tape to mitigate the damage, couldn't find the gorilla tape.
The bends need stretching out. It was wavy and I used two large crescents to even it out some.

If you want it clean looking, another option is to cut off the corner and drill a new hole thats more centered. (Or just leave it hanging down)
Its thick (1/8" or little more) and it doesnt flatten as easily as sheet metal. Maybe I need a harder surface, it was backed up by a 4x4 as I hammered on it.

As @Doubeleive mentioned, don't overtighten! I stripped one of my bolts (it stays in, we'll see if it falls out) but plan to nutsert or enlarge the threads. Never had a problem before, because I didnt want to squash the plastic cover. Now trying to cinch down the aluminum cover... Ooops! I thought it was the antiseize..

The bolts that are holding my xfer case skidplate have thicker washers than the ones that held the splash shield.
It's not completely flat on that corner bolt, it's not overlapping the suspension bracket.
I just didn't want that fold to go bending further into the curved bottom. Tightening the bolt more will strip the threads before it flattens the hole..
Will work on it more next time..

So $37 bucks at O'Reilly's later and about 15 minutes time, here is the result. Touched up the bumper a little also.
I like it. Just need to figure out how to get the handle off the glass i spose.

How about some fishing line? Get behind that handle and saw it off.
What did you use to get the other residue off?

It's the same deal for that back glass thumb pad. Saw it off with some fishing line and clean the residue off. I like to use vinegar water solution to clean glass real good.

I removed mine after Chris @iamdub esplained to me how easy that would be.

Had a dim driver's side headlight on the '07 that I noticed on Friday. It was dim on both low and high beam. Bought new bulbs just in case, but discovered the connector was melted - likely due to high resistance from either arcing or minor corrosion. I ordered new pigtails so I'll replace it but in the meantime, squirting it with contact cleaner got it working normally again. I forgot to snap a pic but y'all know what a melted/slightly burned connector looks like. Hopefully it won't catch fire before I can get in there to splice in the new one, lol.

I collected quit the assortment of stuff from my old employer.
You would not believe the stuff that has an expiration date in the aircraft world!
I believe i have enough Electrical tape, Aluminum duct tape, wire ties, Anti chafe tape, Solder, just to name a few.
My grandkids will probably be using some after i die.
