yep auto parts is BIG business, so that means money
these factorys over in the "east" can retool in like 72 hours, to make pretty much anything.
that is scary, if they desired to make war we will be on the loosing end at first anyway until we can catch up.
they are already baking and poping out stuff left & right along with Belt & Road, Africa will be the new China... mark my words

America goes where the cheap labor goes and when it's no longer cheap, we go some place else. so nothing would supised me about where it goes next. it just depends on the govt if they take advantage of what's learned and left behind or not. Mexico would have already out Chinaed china by now if the cartels didn't run the place keeping labor costs low ish still.

After finishing up front and 2nd row seat insulation (had to pause due to EOC leak into rad), I laid out carpet. It's a 3 piece set, so this makes life so much simpler.

Yanking everything out is no small task the way everything is held together with crappy plastic clips these days.
You're bound to break a few tabs in the process.
true, and after some years things get brittle and break easily. If you take your time and not rush it then it generally works out
if you go into it trying to go as fast as you can then you run into breaking clips and yanking wires out even by accident.
sometimes the retainers will break anyway and you just have to take it in stride

interesting, was out finally getting around to new rotor seasoning, so I had the scanner out to disable the regen and happened to remember the hvac sensors. so ac was set to 70 and all the duct sensors read around there, and basically matched the requested within a few degrees. but the evaporated sensor seems way off. I doubt I can have 70deg vent temp with 84 deg evap.

I wonder how hard that is to replace.

What part of FL? I'm in st pete
I grew up in Tampa and my family are now all in Wesley Chapel/Zephyrhills area. Will be doing a turn and burn to grab the car and head out early for home. I lived in Orlando and left during Covid - I really remember why I left central Florida after being there for a bit of time. St Pete has grown so much!

I grew up in Tampa. left about 12 years ago. went back about 5 years ago to visit and didn't recognize anything. like a completely different world down there now. I only have about 4 car friends left down there and 3 of them can't wait to get out. the other owns a condo on the water and is never leaving no matter what. ha.

it was bad enough with the blue hairs coming down every winter, but atleast they went home when it got hot.

Where will they go? One of my sisters lived in Sarasota for a few years but moved back to Virginny since the summer heat was too much. Brown hair, though.

well one buddy left about the same time I did but from Brandon to north GA. Absolutely loves it up there. the rest want to go a little further up into NC hills. one will probably end up near Asheville, his mom moved up there probably 20 years ago and getting up in age. others just want to get a cabin somewhere to retire.

that whole area is like a car/bike guys heaven.

and haha at brown hair. the blue hair's back in the day were the old new Yorkers that had enough money for a winter house down south. gray hair would look blue their the back glass. when you were stuck behind them driving slowly lost. I think they called themselves snow birds? all I remember is riding around town in my dad's old work truck while he cussed everyone one of them he saw.
