Installed a washer fluid heater.

It is a Hyundai branded one for around $50 on ebay. Looks identical to the OEM one, minus some wiring.
Bent up the included bracket, and used up a license plate bracket that came with my GoRhino push bumper.

I attach the negative to aux battery when needed until I order a relay and tidy things up...
Heats the water in ~30 seconds, enough for about 2 wipes / 2 seconds (judging by the steam)
Haven't been able to test on ice yet..

Please elaborate, what does this consist of in the way of parts and installation? Does it recirc the tank or heat as it squirts?

I was one of the unlucky folks who had a vehicle burn to the ground because of that thing. NO THANKS.

Where do you live?

I've never had a vehicle with heated washer fluid. I always run - 20* fluid and have never had a problem with it freezing.

It heats ~50ml of fluid I believe.
It just came with the power wire, 60A inline fuse of some sort.
I'm going to wire it to a 70/80A relay..

I've seen some reports of the OEM one burning. Some say adding the fuse did not help?
I've seen photos of corrosion inside where the power leads connect. Something about condensation collecting inside.
Where I have it located over the engine should help dry it out....
Have not seen a recall on Hyundai's with this heater.?

They don't sell anything less than 32F fluid here!
I added half a bottle of rubbing alchohol as per some youtube videos..
Add a bottle or two of HEET (those yellow bottles) into a gallon of washer fluid. HEET contains methanol, which is what is added to the winter mix 20 below washer fluid.

I run a meth injection system on my supercharged mustang and to get about a 50/50 mix of water/meth I start with 20 below washer fluid and add 2 bottles of HEET to it.

Same problem here...
Although we do have some high elevations within an hour or two drive, and those stores typically will sell that stuff... Just a trick to get to it if that's all you need. Haha

Looks the same as OEM GM and Hyundai. Says it activates when voltage is above 13.0V..
Some mention of the original GM units burning due to low washer fluid level, another mentioning defective circuit boards... You wonder if they really know.
Have seen no mentions of the Hyundai version failing yet...

Here a KIA version stayed on, killing the battery, so better to use a relay.

The day mine burned, I had gotten the low washer fluid warning earlier in the morning.

Thanks for the info!

Must keep an eye on fluid...

maybe wire the level sensor to a power-cut relay..

Need a timer circuit...
No sense in it running after a few minutes of use.

After replacing the left front wheel hub with a Timken a few weeks ago on our '07, I was getting an ABS light and a code for the left front wheel speed sensor. It was occasional at first and then progressed to every time I drove it. I crawled under and everything looked in place, so I disconnected the connector and hit it with some electronics cleaner on Monday. So far, the code hasn't recurred this week after several long-ish errand runs. Also, the reman calipers, and Powerstop Z23 pads and rotors I installed seem to be wearing properly. Safe to say that severely worn calipers was the source of my uneven rotor wear. The originals lasted 240K though - not bad at all.
