Had a lifter collapse at 278k miles

So I pulled off the head and replaced it... either the crappy lifter I put in is bad too or the cam has an issue. It is still ticking, not like when with the collapsed lifter but it is ticking. I pulled the rocker off of that lifer and confirmed it is the one I replaced, cylinder 6.

I am less than 22k miles from hitting 300k on this Tahoe that I have owned since new. The tick doesn't seem to be getting any worse so maybe it is just the lifter think I will just ride it out until it dies at this point it is running fine.

Put some marvel mystery oil in her and drive it like you stole it! Mine did the same thing I have my computer tuned to cut off the flex fuel but still had a lifter go bad I changed the oil to 10w40 and added a quart of mmo and it’s been quite ever sense! “Knock on wood”

Ya might just try that it won't hurt anything at this point... Just weird it knocked from the get go.

@robgreg75 Could be a flat spot on the cam causing the lifter to have a bumpy ride, when the lifter goes you really should look at having the cam replaced because the cam takes the beating when a lifter fails

Yes i know but I wasn't gonna pull the cam now my home I am building will be done in about a month and I will have more room to work on it then. I will just drive it with the tick, you cannot even hear it inside unless really paying attention.
