What dealer are you working with? I ordered through Jim Ellis here in ATL and had a good experience.
I deal with the Jim Ellis north of Atlanta in Buford, bought my last 4 GMCs there and they were great. My regular salesman transferred to their Cadillac dealer in ATL but said he could order me an Escalade or Yukon. I didn’t start looking til end of January and by that point a lot of the constraints and delays were going on he told me either wait til April for the next model year or take my chances finding one in transit. I lucked out with one in transit in Arkansas.

UPDATE TO MY ORDER - today I reached out to GM via chat, until today my order status from GM was “GM has not officially accepted your order”. TODAY the message was “Your order has been accepted for production, but no target production week has been set for it yet.” Is this good news for me??

That is incredible news! Getting the order accepted is half the battle....or maybe 1 third

Next step is to get a TPW and hope you actually have it built around that time. I'd bet you'll get a TPW within the next week or two.

Then once it built the final battle is the delivery. That seems to be a crapshoot like everything else. Ive read it takes weeks to months (plural) although things to appear to be moving faster.

We also ordered 2022 Yukon XL Denali - we wanted the Ultimate package but they could not get us the RSE. Well, we ended up ordering the Premium package and added everything else that the Ultimate package offered ala carte; so now we have a vehicle with EVERYTHING except the RSE. As someone mentioned before, if we need it that bad we can buy after market for half the price.

I’m going to discuss that with my dealer. Thanks for the information!
I ordered my '22 Yukon Denali on 10/06/2021; as a few people have mentioned, dealers are allocated so many Yukon Denali's each week/every other week, etc. When my dealership finally got a Denali allocation, there would be things I'd have to give up: such as the sliding center counsel - which I was fine with...so they'd remove it and wait for GM to accept it. Then, they'd get another allocation, but GM would come back and say "well, this has the ultimate package with the rear entertainment package, and we aren't doing any of the REP right now" - so I agreed to remove it. The next zinger was "Okay, we are also not doing any panoramic sunroofs on any cars right now", which was a HUGE no for me, so I told them I'd wait until they were allowing orders again with a sunroof.

Then I got a call in Feb saying "we can finally build your Yukon! We have a Denali allocation - BUT, we cannot give you the Ultimate/Reserve Package, we will have to break everything down. GM is not building the Max Trailering package; they are also not building any Yukons with the Advanced Technology package which includes: Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, Rear Camera Mirror, Rear Camera Mirror Washer, or the Advanced Security Package content. They are not building anything with the Advanced Security Package, which includes: Door lock and latch shields, Inclination sensor, Vehicle interior movement sensor, Self-powered horn, Glass break sensors in rear quarter glass and liftgate window. They are also not building any Yukons with the Adaptive Air Ride suspension."

It was a VERY tough call, but I agreed to move forward without these items; I didn't care about the trailering, as I don't plan to tow anything. The biggest thing for me was skipping on the adaptive air ride suspension...I really hope I don't regret it. My salesman had to submit an entirely new order and it was accepted the same day.

Here's the dates of how my car has moved so far:
- 03/04: Status 2000: Accepted by GM - TPW (Target Production Week) of 04/04/2021.
- 03/14: Status 3000: Order Accepted by Production Control; TPW moved up to 03/28
- 03/28: Status 3400: Order Broadcast For Production (Loaded on Assembly Plant Computers
- 04/08: Status 3400: Order Broadcast For Production (Loaded on Assembly Plant Computers

So, once it's accepted by GM, you can see that it still takes some time to go through the process of then being accepted by production control and THEN being built. My salesman believes it should arrive late-April or early-May. Super excited!

the question i have...how were you notified of the status changes?

Were you notified by the dealer/salesman at each change? If so, that's a unicorn of a dealership - at least in my area.

No one notified me of anything. I think GM is a bunch on snot nose losers that claim they are entitled and therefore do not own their actions or a lack of do adequately check orders. Talking to GM chat is like throwing rocks at a fan, they hope something will eventually hit. I am starting to look at the possibility of purchasing an entirely different vehicle.

I try not to ask the dealer unless I’m calling him with questions about something else. i use the GMC text feature. I specifically ask for the status code because they usually just give a generic response.

According to my latest GM chat, I asked for my event code and was informed they no longer give that information out.

Thanks to the great folks on GM inside news I managed to find out my Yukon produced on March 23rd was moved to the old Naval air station they use as a depot on March 31st.

I guess that means its awating parts. Bummer, I thought the whole point of constraints and not getting options was not to do the build shy strategy.

Anyone with recent (last few weeks) experience of having their order shipped there? How long a wait can I expect?

This is definitely new! They are saying "We have found providing event codes doesn't provide the additional insight our customers are expecting from the code and may cause additional confusion." so I immediately have said "The code is helpful for me, and has been provided previously without issue. It has not caused confusion. Can you please provide? It would be much appreciated."

They send it once I ask like that....that might help.

Congrats! Mine just moved to status 4300 INTERMEDIATE DELIVERY! My salesman said it should be about two weeks, so I'm super excited!

GM customer service told me today it now shipped, but wont be more specific. I am hoping they didnt confuse the shipping to the holding yard to the one to my dealer. I hope my status is same as yours.

Regardless, congratulations, hopefully youll be driving it soon!
