not really related but "frustrated" brought back a memory
I remember way back when I was Super broke and Super broke I had a old mazda to get around don't remember the model but I had just beat out about 10,000 other applicants for a job at DANA corp welding and it had a decent starting wage and I thought my money problems would be solved I just had to make it thru 2-weeks training on time everyday in the next town over, no brainer right? well fate decided different on the 2nd morning of leaving to go to training where the throttle cable passed thru the firewall it was a weak spot and the firewall decided to tear and fall inward towards your feet therefore rendering the throttle cable useless, man I considered everything even tying a string to the throttle lol but there just wasn't enough "force" against the return spring to make it happen, needless to say I lost that job opportunity but I did come up with a novel idea of having a bracket made that held the throttle cable where it passed thru the firewall and just made the outer part bigger so it covered over the tear in the firewall and it actually worked quit well, I just made a rough drawing of what I needed and took it to the local machine shop, later while looking in the junkyard for parts to keep it running I noticed a couple more in the junkyard with torn firewalls that likely ended up there just because of that. I sometimes wonder where I would be today if that firewall had never torn...a simple little thing was a life changing event.
Was that before the Twisted Sister gig?

lol this was well after twisted sister was around I remember when they came out I was a strapping young lad with a sony cassette player on a greyhound bus bought there cassette while on a bus stop and jammed it all the way from washington to so-cal, I spent those years high as a kite surprised I have any brain cells left over. I started using drugs when I was about 5-6 years old all the way until I was 23, daily.

Because they were rusted into oblivion.

I love you guys too much, I have to show you how I attacked this out of mutual respect. Not proud of it but doing what I have to do. :(

I mean, I am proud, but not in the eyes of the word as it is today. :(

I used a Sawzall and drill bits to keep sparks from flying. :(

And the tie wire is strictly to keep the lines from blowing off the non barbed connections. :(
After I cut the hole for my FP like you, I hit up the junkyard and I cut a bigger size floor plate to over lap the hole on my suv. I put foam on it and sealed it, you may wanna do that. I'm not going to comment on fuel line fix, lol

It's the same with the fuel tank strap bolts -- Dorman says they won't fit mine but they're an exact replacement part.

For these particular retaining clips I used them on my '04 and the GM ones are pretty much all the same, with that style of quick connect. These are the correct size for your two fuel pump lines.
This @89Suburban They will fit. They are pretty much the same for all GM, just get the proper line size. 3/8 and 5/16 from I've been seeing multiple people on here say. I did AN fittings on my 74 so I can't confirm the exact size but I used -6 which is equal to 3/8 IIRC.

Man, i forgot how expensive AN fittings can be... :jester:
Not sure what size you need, but I have 2 that came with my trans cooler that I didn't use. Brand new, still in packaging.

Presently scraping some damaged window tint off the driver’s window. That stuff is a biotch to remove.

Would have been easier to park it on the wrong side of town and then get the glass replaced after they break in.
Have had good luck with a hair dryer and some patience.

I did this! Well, kinda.

At a past job, while parked at the shop late one night, I caught a guy just as he was reaching through the window to unlock the door after he threw a rock through the glass. The truck had 35% tint- the darkest allowed at that time. One officer inspecting the truck said "This tint sure is dark". I told him it was legal and that he was more than welcomed to put his meter on it. Besides- who's the real criminal here?! Anyway, I went to the salvage yard that weekend to grab a window. Lucky me, it was a 50%-off weekend. I scored a clean matching pair of windows for $25. They had what I and some friends estimated to be 5% tint.

So, that thief actually did me a favor! I had already swapped the carpet for a molded vinyl floor and it was a standard cab S10. I had the glass vacuumed up in about 10 minutes.

Here is what I am going to try:

I had to order the one part from Advanced because Amazon couldn't get it to me until Sunday. What really shocked the hell out of me was they delivered it 4 hours after I paid for it. I was going to go pick it up a few towns over, but there was an option for FREE delivery TODAY. I picked that option as a dare because I couldn't believe it and it went through and it was delivered by Doordash. The total for the order was $25 with the tax.
