I wondering about that too if I went that route.I don't think you need to program it if you buy used.

Mine is quiet when oil is cold. Only gets noisy after the oil is fully warm and thin. IIRC I have 10-30 in it. Could be 5-30. I really can’t remember
seems to go away above 3800 rpm. Probably because everything else it making more noise lol

You can also blacken the valve stem tips with a sharpie and turn the motor over a couple times and look at the wear patternI pulled one of my rockers and found a clear mark from the rollers on the valve tip.
just slightly inboard!
meaning my pushrods were totally too short by just a tad.![]()
Ok so I pulled the battery cable off for 20 min, grounded it. Hooked it back up. Now the window is working fine????

Now it stopped working again. LOL. Definitely need a new switch.I was just thinking that!
I had an issue with the heated seat switch on the driver side, i was about to order a new switch.
then i took the battery off for a minute, and it's been good ever since.
Your filler tube looks so tight and solid. So jelly.Step i missed when i went with the AFR heads!
Made me feel better about making the pita switch to the longer pushrod.
I'm 48% done now.
And those spacers are sorta a pita to center perfectly.
I'm sure i'll find some clearance issues when putting the plastic cover back on.

I'm getting my new one for my NBS today. I noticed mine is crooked as fck. Wish me luck.Your filler tube looks so tight and solid. So jelly.

Did you use a pencil eraser on the contacts? It works great. James @swathdiver can probably hook you up with a link to a Tech2.Now it stopped working again. LOL. Definitely need a new switch.
I DO!!! Please report back! Do you have one locking nub in your hole or 2?I'm getting my new one for my NBS today. I noticed mine is crooked as fck. Wish me luck.![]()

I'll try the eraser tomorrow. Can't hurt. But I find it extremely discerning none of the 3 functions on that certain switch work but the rest are perfectly fine. My gut is telling me whatever relay's that are built into the circuit board for that function on that certain window position are beat. Or whatever circuitry thingamajigs control it. You can hear a distinct "clicking relay" sound when it decides to work on that side in the switch. You can hear it from the pass door switch too no problem.Did you use a pencil eraser on the contacts? It works great. James @swathdiver can probably hook you up with a link to a Tech2.
I'd be happy just to have a working drivers side window and not the rest, or the door locks or mirrors for that matter. If I could plug and play a new unit just to have that one working to get me by for now i'd be so relieved.I think this is correct if pulled from a truck with similar options.

1 locking nub. And the new filler tube sucks just like the old one. It rocks back and forth if you wiggle it. These need to lock on 2 sides. Is there an updated rocket cover/ filler tube combo for that side? BTW check out that awesome rocker! I never get to see those works of art.I DO!!! Please report back! I have the same one with the little doors in my LTZI thought that's what this one was. What's the difference? My Denali one has retractable, pivoting covers that close to make an unbroken expanse of fake wood. It looks okay. But the doors take up so much space that there isn't enough room to even put my sunglasses in it. This one is far more useful, and only slightly less attractive. That's a compromise I'm willing to make.

What extra o-ring did you use?an extra o-ring on there really got it fitting tightly.![]()
