I was going to head to the property today, but decided the hoe is not ready yet.
:okay2: :violin2:

Wife ditched me, and i was all like "what to do to day"
ac on in the garage, and some "liquid motivation" to clean.

She looks super happy.

She was speechless, figuratively and literally! That was the part of the video right before she was holding her stomach. :D

This is the part that makes me unable to wait for her to start driving. The thought of paying insurance kills it, though! I'm hoping she'll accompany me under the Tahoe for the oil change coming up in 600 miles. She's such a bookworm- maybe I can slip in some custom car mags for her to read. Maybe we can nerd out on sound waves and calculating enclosure volumes for the Tahoe's sub system. :p

After all that heat, the only thing that seems to have taken any damage is water pump seal. Only leaks when it's spinning.
Hoses a new pump show up tomorrow, hopefully I can get that swapped out before my trip Thursday morning.
And I'd hate to add more things to the list, but I really need to do brake fluid.

As my wife would say, "adorbs".
Just remember, you might influence the type of guy she is into later... :hahano:

Then the "cleaning this old gun" as the daughters new boyfriend comes to pick her up, "sit on down boy and lets have a talk"
Good reason to get that .50 bmg imo. :angels2:
Keep em respectful, dad is always watching etc. :happy160:

and i remember my first time experiencing real bass, inner ear temporarily fkd.
me = can't walk stand, or see straight.

Later, i got into it myself.
You get used to it, but the 'ol retinas never do. :jester:

I filled a K5 blazer with 4 12's in a gigantic box.
Old Gen 1 JBL GTI series, running off 1500 rms watts.

You could feel the bass from a good block away.
I still have those speakers in storage, but not the box.
Fantastic speakers, they outlived two amps in their lifetime.
The last one i got introduced to this "class D" amp.
blew my mind.

I learned how to do electrical type stuff from that little experience.
And i might still have a slight ringing in the 'ole ears. ;)

I'd be okay with that!

That has ALWAYS been the plan! Her current opinion of boys is that they're disgusting animals, all after only one thing. Speaking of guns, during one of our golf cart talks, I mentioned taking her to the range and she got excited. So, I've been stocking up on cheap range ammo. :D Any prospective boyfriend seeing videos of her confidently draining 100-round drum mags should set the tone.

That old JBL stuff was pretty solid for mainstream gear. That brought back memories of watching the Sunday papers for doorbuster sales at Circuit City in the 90s - early 00s. JBL, MTX Thunder Series, etc.

Yes! There's plenty of science and skills to explain and experience in all things automotive. I just gotta find ways to keep her interested in it.

Oh yeah, teenage car insurance. I remember when my ex’s daughter ( I consider her my own and I’m the only dad she’s ever known) got her license -after I taught her to drive and then discovered I had to log plenty of hours with her driving and me riding along. She didn’t have a car yet and there was no need to alert my insurance company. Her mom started talking about how much it would cost for insurance and I told her we will find out when it’s time, just don’t go calling my insurance company no matter what. I come home from work a couple days later and my ex says she did something that I’m not gonna like. She had called my insurance company, gave them my policy number, and asked how much it would cost to add our daughter. So then the agent had informed her that since they knew a teenage driver lived at our address she had to be added to my policy because she had access to my vehicles. My rate was going up around $400 a month, from about $250 to $650. I quickly scoured the internet looking and it seemed every insurance company already knew this little secret. Except one, Allstate. I bought their policy and they never knew I had a teen driver in the house for over 2 years, when i bought her a car and put her on my policy.

Living in the state with the highest insurance rates, Jenn and I will absolutely be mindful of this. Thanks for sharing, and sorry to hear that happened. But, props to you for being who and what she needed.

What age do you think kids should have their own car insurance policy and not be just an added driver to yours?

My step son has been driving the 2001 Yukon for about 2 years now and takes it to college with him. He turns 21 later this month and will be starting his senior year in the fall. Our insurance on that vehicle is about $80 more per month and he pays us the difference every month. He works full time during the summer and part time when in school. I told him his insurance will be a bit cheaper once he's 21 and will drop again at 25.

Jersey has the highest insurance rates in the country. At one time as a teenager I was paying $5k a yr in insurance. Of course I had points on my license. At the time I had a slow a$$ 85 Z28.
