I just realized I could've just referenced my sig pic. lol
You don't get rust in Weezyana? Figured with all that humidity

Mine looked clean like that when I got it in August 2018. Still does for the most part, but some of that black coating on the frame is getting some light brown areas near the edges and corners. I think it's from driving in the **** they put down when it snows.

That pic was taken back in 2016 when I first bought the car, at about 150K miles. I'm sure it still looks about the same. We don't have rust here.

A year ago at 200,0xx miles during the engine refresh:

So much real-estate to install a wideband O2.

Me: one of these to a part that i won't name is sounding very tempting right now.

Put fiberglass strips over all the dashboard cracks (only 5, I guess I'm lucky...) in preparation for doing the Dashskin thing. Then I may just disable the airbag instead of letting the dealer break the dash and cover while doing the airbag recall.

Yeah…don’t start doing **** like that…ever watch Fear Your Neighbor on ID? What you’re talking about is exactly how most of those documentaries start and they end up with someone that nobody thought would ever **** another person doing exactly that to their neighbor. There’s something about feeling trapped in a corner because they just can’t or won’t up and sell their most valued possession and move away. Tread lightly. Best to ignore rather than antagonize. I mean, you’re not in a relationship with this guy, he’s a neighbor.
This. I was just lecturing my step-daughter’s BF, to educate him on this topic. Pick your battles, and expect retaliation if you rattle their cage.

Took it through the deluxe car wash today and filled it up.

We returned from Las Vegas yesterday. We are driving down there more often these days as my wife’s 90+ YO parents, while still living independently, can really use some help from time to time.

The trip is a little over 600 miles each way, a lot if it on the Great Basin Highway, which is pretty beautiful country. It realistically takes us about 11 hours with stops for gas and letting the dogs out to visit nature occasionally.

This old Yukon really is a traveling dream car.

Radiator and oil cooler lines hooked up.
drained the remaining from the pan, I did a little rinsing before i buttoned it up.

next, getting ready to prime the oil system maybe tonight or tomorrow.

I still need to flush the trans cooler lines once more for good measure.
then it's time to connect to the radiator!

And i flushed out the radiator transmission and engine oil coolers, used my flush tool with paint thinner after i used a garden hose and a good solid can of engine degreaser.

My goal is to ensure all metal bits are out of there (and the radiator has been outside since march).

They sell cans of transmission cooler flush at the auto parts stores, just hook it up to the line and push a button until it's empty. Super easy. What kind of a flush tool do you have?
Those rockers weren't what I was envisioning, I was thought they'd be more like the Yella Terra's I put in my 02, shaft mount. Those should be good though. I was told mine add 25 HP, don't know if that's true.
Why did you modify the rocker covers? Is that necessary with the Comp Cams rockers? I know, too many questions. Sorry, I'm bored waiting on stuff.

Humidity is mostly just water. Salt is the killer. Actually, those that live on the coast get some rust, but its not like the rockers and wheel arches rotting out within the first ten years like the areas where the roads are salted.

I don't even know how to tune with what I have now! I do have the Pro Features hardware for my MPVI2, but I don't know if they're even supporting it in the software yet. I do want a wideband, though. One for each bank, if possible. I might could put them where the downstream O2 sensors are since they're just there to plug the holes. Or put the regular upstream ones in the downstream spots and the widebands in the upstream spots? It only like 6-8 inches of difference.

Got rockers installed last night!

Modified the valve covers slightly.
Looked to be a tight fit in there, got the idea from one of the Q&A answers on summit racing.

All this work to perfect so many minute details, yet you're gonna roll with the old style rocker cover that might very well contribute to oil consumption...

I just learned how to use a wideband with out pro features!

You can add it in hp tuners to a laptop via usb to serial adapter.

Apparently you can also log your fueling map and it will make corrections that you can paste into your actual fueling map!

My ebl flash does that, but it also writes it to the tune file for you.
I wish hp tuners was that slick.

I still have a loooong ways to go, but things are already making more sense.

Eta, you can replace your narrow band with them and wire a harness from the little processor deal to the orignal harness.
But the recommended is to install a **** just for the wideband.

Goat rope garage on youtube.
I really need to be in the mood for it tho.
