And i finally got the engine mounts off of the frame.
driver side was toast!

I had no idea, but it might explain the random clunk when taking off. :D

I also had no idea that they were captured bolts... lol

Get the Hummer H2 solid rubber mounts, they never fail. Edit: nvm, I see you went with them already.

I did H3 mounts. Bolt on like stock. No complaints in the 30 miles I've used them
I always get it confused, H2 or H3 mounts. I wonder what they used on my bagged and bodied Silvy since they had to lower the engine in the bay in order to get the hood to close. Might be something else entirely afaik.

Guy at the machine shop told me they were gtg as well.
did you just put on plain, or use some copper sealer spray?

Put on as-is. The heads were resurfaced since they were shaved a little for compression, the block deck was just scraped clean with a Razr and lightly buffed with a super fine Roloc disc. Same way I've always done and never a problem.

I think it's H2 mounts, as the H2 had the 6.0l and 6.2l engines.

H3 came with like a 3.5l

The H3 was also available with the 5.3. I don’t know what fits our trucks, though. Some day I’ll probably need to know...

Just to clear up confusion.

The mounts that fit our trucks are for the passenger side of the Hummer H3 Alpha, which came with the 5.3l. You will need two passenger side mounts to replace both mounts in our rigs.

And they work beautifully I might add.
