What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Decided to replace the chrome strip on my back bumper. Long story short I could have done it without taking the bumper off. Using a trim tool it just pops off. I did find a busted blind spot sensor bracket that had a previous repair on it. I did a little more zip tie action and it should work better now.

This strip was supposed to be a GM part but it clearly was not. It is a Chinese reproduction. One of the little tabs even broke off when I installed the clip. Not happy but it’s on there and looks ok. I will hold onto the original strip just in case I have to strip the chrome and paint it.

I saw discussion about radiators and the tissue paper baffles at the ends to stop airflow and decided to replace the taters. Being a closet skinflint, I used some free material that I’ve been saving to use “someday”.

I sure wish I could find the bag of 50 of these push pins. I’d like to put one at the top of each baffle. I’ve torn my garage apart looking for that ****** bag.

I just ordered from Rockauto with fedex and it left Kansas Monday am and hit my doorstep here in PA 1 pm today after stopping in Ohio and Maryland on the way.

Fedex is already a day late.

When i lived closer to the city, i liked fedex.
Now they are always late.

FedEx sucks. They’re the only delivery company I know of that routinely changes the delivery date without even mentioning it’s been changed. One day tracking says it will be here Tuesday, then on Tuesday it will say Wednesday like “what, you thought we said Tuesday?” Then it might change again. That’s why Amazon dropped them, they’re never on time and when Amazon says it will be there a certain day, it is.

Where I’m at USPS is the worst by far and I avoid them at all costs. I’ve had good luck with both fedex and ups in my area

I got a refund, then one day it showed up...

the seller told me "wait longer",
Me: it's been a month, time to find another seller.

I've had packages shipped via USPS just vanish forever more than once or come open with no contents. I've got two instances that immediately come to mind and both involve a couple of members on TYF Luckily none of the items involved were overly valuable but the USPS is just so inept it's ridiculous. At the beginning of the year a couple of bills I sent through the mail took over 6 weeks to get to their destination which resulted in late fees being charged to me. At that point, I completely swore off the USPS and will never use them again and less I have absolutely no choice.

there are a few locations that come to mind, every time I see my package held up there i begin to worry.
IL, NY, and i think KY was another bad location...

And i got my pistons!
did a quick mock up with one of them, perfect fit on the rod bushings.
Roughly it looks like flush with the top of the block at tdc.

One thing that i wonder about, quench
looking at most gaskets available like Felpro, compressed thickness is something like .043 - .045...

I managed to find two new push pins and finished up the baffles on thecopcar.

Ugg, so it looks like i need to rethink my head gasket.
i see some copper gaskets are available in thinner options.

Or i see about having the brand new block decked to bring the height down.

and the pistons appear perfect, if i were to raise the height of the piston. I'm not seeing special order options.

so i'm thinking, get the crank and the balance done.
assemble with new bearings, and double check the height...

if i remember, i need to bug the machine shop when i drop the stuff off.

I see they have a nice selection of different thicknesses with the mls type.

USPS lost a firearm I was waiting for once. Tracking said it was delivered, so I went to the post office the next day and explained that I was an FFL and there was a pistol in that box. They were back at the counter with it in less than 60 seconds. Funny how the tone changed once I said it was a firearm, and insisting it was delivered became knowing exactly where it was in their building.

I've been awaiting the arrival of GMT900s to my local pull-a-part yards, so I could do some more customizing. I FINALLY got an alert of a new arrival today of the first one to show up close to me. Then I take a look:
