Aaaand that's my misunderstanding that I need to break. I swear what I was taught was that the apostrophe showed possession. Or, as I recall the "trick" to knowing, was that "If whatever 'it' is has something, then 'it' also will have an apostrophe."

So, it's accurate to say that its use of the contraction in question in this sentence is correct, yes?
Lol! I swear I was taught the same thing! As soon as I saw that one, I thought to myself..: the apostrophe shows possession...

Oh well. That will get us through until next time. Better later then never.. [emoji6]

This is another that makes me nuts..

Yes. This is one of those exceptions in the English language; it's not a particularly easy language to learn.

Then there is the widespread misuse of apostrophes to indicate plural; e.g., "there are two car's in the lot."

Then you might call it English ***** 101.

And to get this thread back on track, I'll say that I did nothing to my GMT900 today 'cause I don't have one.

Welp i installed the new ac belt on my hoe.
It came with a little install tool and a sheet with instructions that made 0 sense.
FSM explained it much better.

Tried with out using the tool first, and then with the little tool.

And no one else cares about when people use “then” instead of “than”...?
