Put new shoes on today. Nokian Rotiiva AT 265/70R17 from Walmart for $111/ea plus $100 to mount balance and road hazard. Quite cheap from the evil Waltons considering that my local dealers wanted about $60 more per tire.
I replaced some Load Range E BFG’s.
WOW what a difference in ride quality with this standard non-Load E tires!!! So quiet too.

My old 2007 Silverado came with a set of these on it. They weren't too bad of a tire. Kind of like how they put the tread % in the tire itself so as it wears you have a quick indication of how much tread you have left. They are supposed to be really good in cold weather.

Anyone have the updated valve cover # saved? I thought I had it saved and can't find it. Was gonna order it along with a few other things on Amazon. I assume I will need new gaskets or will that come with the cover

I’ve been running them on the wife’s truck and they’re amazing in the winter. They compare to a low-end snow tire but these are on all year. I like these better than their WR-G3 line. Definitely won’t get 50k miles out of them but at these prices and my long drives in blizzards i wouldn’t mind replacing them every 18-24 months.

It's hot here in Maryland, right around 100F. While driving for 30+ minutes, with NO load, I'm reaching trans temps of 205F. Is it time for a transmission cooler? The transmission shifts great and I had it flushed / filter changed recently.

What's reaching temps of 205F, the engine or trans?

Sorry for that, the trans temp is getting up to 205. Haven't seen it go over that, but from all the reading I've gone on various forums most people stay under 200 when unloaded.

I’ve been seeing this with my NBS as well. I think it’s pretty much expected in the hot temperatures, but I may be moving up my TruCool 40k install..

My Red top Optima decided to crap out on me today. It has been a great battery and has lasted 5+ years, if my memory serves me, which is really good with Florida's heat.

Went back with another Red top. Hopefully it lasts as well as the other one.

Looks good. These are the wheels I have to accommodate my NNBS brake upgrade coming up shortly. I got mine for an absolute steal on my local NextDoor app. I paid I think $150 for these take offs that had been sitting for years untouched.

I've never been a Caddy guy, most of my vehicles have been sports cars--BUT--I did have a MINT 79 Eldorado Biarritz. It was triple white, no RR grill, and it had a special 350 Olds SFI motor. Car was pimp. Excellent highway car too.

Tony,

You got taste.... have a ‘79 Seville with the 350 Olds SFU motor w 700r3 trans 2 tone dark brown with copperish colored bottom. My mother in law bought it from Nelson Balmer Caddy. It was made up to look like the Pierre Cardan for the Brohams, IIRC. Barker lounger seats

Looking at replacing the door hinge that is noisy as hell. I used grease for a while but the bushing is just too worn out at this point. Should I go with dorman or go back to oem? The price difference is like $60 dorman for $33 and oem for $92 I think.

My father had a 79 Seville Elegante Edition when I was a kid--around 1985/86.

Not his, but exactly like this. Both my parents worked nights when I was 15. Long story short--I took it for a joy ride one night, crashed on the highway--not too bad--drove afterwards to my mother's job. Later on she kicked my ass lol. That car was GORGEOUS now that I look back.

I need this too. My driver’s door can sound nasty if I don’t lube it every few months. But I heard replacing them involves taking the whole door off? Seems like too much work for me!
