Had it up today and checked the upper control arm bolts. All four took a half turn before my torque wrench clicked at 148 foot pounds. Everything else is tight.

took the sway bar out and found a buildup inside the bore of the bushings and rust buildup on the pad of the frame between the bushing and the frame. The bushings were sort of galled to the sway bar and should be replaced soon but in the absence of parts I lubed them up with spray anti-seize and put everything back together. Now the sway bar moves smoothly in the bushings. Fingers crossed.
Thought I heard the clunk again today but I couldn’t make it do it again for the life of me! Still need to try torquing the lower control arm bolts. My 18mm socket split on me so I was waiting on the replacement. It was a Craftsman deep impact socket. I was nowhere near the torque spec when it split so I must have damaged it with my impact last time I used it.

Dove under again and tightened the cross member and lower arm bolts. The front lower bolts took some tightening and the cross arm bolts did too. Everything it solid and moves freely.
If it’s not any of the suspension parts maybe the steering shaft. There is play in the column bearing too but I don’t think thats it. Will see if I hear it again.

I want to find a nice set of the 14-19 18” GMC Yukon wheels. I had those and the falken AT tires in the same size as the 14-19 on my 02 avalanche and looked really good without a lift kit the truck sat higher. View attachment 253100

I think those will look good on my z71

Looks good. These are the wheels I have to accommodate my NNBS brake upgrade coming up shortly. I got mine for an absolute steal on my local NextDoor app. I paid I think $150 for these take offs that had been sitting for years untouched.

Definitely a steal, Sam! That style looks great on an NBS.

What a steal. Just make sure to look for signs of dry rotted tires. Those will look great on your rig!

Still have the noise. Backed out of the driveway. Wheels turned to the left lock. Shift from reverse to drive while simultaneously straightening the wheels. Press the accelerator and heard a dull snap only once. I cannot duplicate it.
Slip yolk?

Truck did something weird on the way to work today. When I put the Declads on a couple weeks ago I didn't bother with tpms sensors since I have two sets of wheels, was just going to deal with the light or see if I could turn it off through HPTuners, which has come on every drive since putting the wheels on.

Today on my way to work... no light. Didn't even notice until about 10 miles in. Scrolled through the dic and front was reading 26/45 and the rear was 37/34. Phantom pressure I guess lol. Took it out for lunch and same thing.

24s. I grew up cadillacs as well. Told myself if I get rid of the tahoe, next rig up is a escalade.
I've never been a Caddy guy, most of my vehicles have been sports cars--BUT--I did have a MINT 79 Eldorado Biarritz. It was triple white, no RR grill, and it had a special 350 Olds SFI motor. Car was pimp. Excellent highway car too.
