Fuuuuuuu...............

What about dropping the iron head into the work van so you can keep working and saving up for another 6.0 for the Hoe? You're at a point where you have to buy two motors, but you can't buy two if you're not working and you already have that one that you're "not impressed" with.

That's a great idea. My gf actually suggested the same thing, but I've been told it's an expensive nightmare to swap a chevy van motor. What do you think @iamdub ? Ever do one before? Nightmare job?

I've never pulled a motor in an Express, just worked on 'em. But now I'm prompted to head to the YouTube and see if there's an answer. I know how salvage yards pull them from wrecked vans, but that's 100% irrelevant in your case. lol

*EDIT*

That was fast. It looks like all you gotta do is remove the front- headlights, radiator, core support, etc. I'm not sure if you have to discharge the A/C and remove the condenser or of you can fold it to the side. Of course, you gotta remove the intake manifold and hook the picker low and tight to the motor. The trade-off is that you have easy access to the bellhousing bolts.

Dammit! What’s the plan brother?
Not really sure at this point. Only thing that can be done is a motor--but who--and forget about price!! If I don't step on the gas while at a light, or if it idles, pressure goes to 0! Gf sats the tap usn't loud like before--but it's still tapping like a mofo.

****.

You have another ride to roll temporarily? I think I’d be looking for a $500 set of wheels for the moment.

tow yards sell cars cheap that might be the temporary alternative, I've had a to roll a $400 toyota before, freaking thing had shot suspension and was just plain all used up but still got from a to b, rolled it till I could afford something else and sold the bish for $400 lol exactly what I paid for it, turned up abandoned in the next town about a year later tow company asked if i had any interest since I was the last registered owner, haha nope.

Yep! I’m thinking this is the current situation. I’d go this route, and save up for the repairs you need on the other vehicles in the meantime. Likely, you’ll even save some gas $$ lol. That will get the pressure off to get it done yesterday, and you can do what you want to do.
