Probably only in California. Nobody cares up here in Oregon. But there’s tons of minor vehicle or traffic laws most of us violate regularly. I know I could get tickets for a few things with my lights. I’m not supposed to have HID unless my vehicle came with them, I have too many white lights in the front, etc. But up here they don’t mess with us, even for tint or open headers. ;)
I could be wrong but I think the only requirement here for the turn signal is a amber bulb, same for the brake lights having to be red, if the lens is broken and they see "white" shinning thru they will get you and make you at least put red tape over the hole. I had clear lens on my 00 for over a decade never a question about it by any leo

Well let me know you like sending off that cash to the state when they get you for stupid crap... lol

In my parts, the LEOs are more concerned with not getting shot than they are a minor DOT compliance infraction such as an absent reflector or the color temperature of the LED bulbs. You have to be doing something really stupid and/or harmful for them just to stop you in the first place. After you're stopped, THEN they may inspect your vehicle for illegal mods. But, that's usually only if you're being a dick or have blatantly illegal mods (dark tint, rainbow LEDs everywhere, etc.) that prompt them to dig in.

As Mark pointed out, what they enforce varies by region- state-to-state, city-to-city. What I gather about Commiefornia in general is that everything is an offense to someone in some form or another.

And there's no such thing as a fix-it ticket in Oregon anyway so I don't need to worry. At least I've never heard of anyone getting one. You might get a plain ticket at the worst but that never happens for something like lights.

I'm not sure if they have a specific "fix-it" ticket. But, in my precinct, if you get a ticket (regular, standard citation) for a minor thing such as lights or tint and you're not a repeat offender, you can replace the lights, remove the tint, etc. and bring it to the courthouse and they'll drop the charges after inspecting your vehicle. Same with proof of insurance. The real win here is that the inspection is performed by the clerk behind the counter that is a middle- or upper-aged lady that doesn't know jack about cars and doesn't care to be outside in the heat. I've gone twice for tint in two separate towns and left my tint in place. I park my Tahoe the end of the lot (as I always do anyway), bring the clerk out to the parking lot, point to a random Tahoe that doesn't have tint (popular vehicle, so the chances are good), say something like "it sure looks different without the tint" and we go back inside for me to get my dismissal receipt.

Plastics look good! That trim+tire gel is awesome stuff!
Yes it is. Now I’m not sure how this is going to work out in the long run but I figured wth...I was doing the tires and that stuff is thick as hell so after trying to keep it off the wheels as I was getting it in the area around the bead, of course a bit got on a wheel. I tried wiping it off but it seemed to make the wheel look good. As in really good. They’re satin black but not as black as when they were new. I went ahead and applied the gel and wiped them off good. I guess we’ll see what it looks in days or weeks.

Today I tried a couple of new to me products on the windshield- Nu Glass cleaner , to remove the Rain-X and prep the glass for Aquapel. The Nu Glass is a paste kinda like glass stove top cleaner, where you use it to polish out anything on the glass. It takes out water spots too if you do 2-3 applications with a bit of elbow grease. I used 2 applications on the windshield. Then came the Aquapel and I didn’t read the part of the instructions where it said to pop the cartridge OVER AND PARALLEL TO THE WINDSHIELD lol. I did it off to the side and some dripped onto the ground so I had to run and grab a second one after the first ran out. I did read the part where it says to immediately wipe with a paper towel though or you’ll have to buff the haze off. So I immediately went from running in the house to grab the second applicator to running in circles chasing the pup who had of course stolen the paper towels. I looked like a crazed mad man for a bit there. Nothing new to my neighbors though lmao. I sure hope this works.

Anybody else use Aquapel? Even after using 2 cartridges it looks streaky. I wiped and wiped and wiped with paper towels. Then after a couple hours it still looked streaky so I wiped with dry towels again, then used glass cleaner and still streaky looking.

Never heard of aquapel....
My windshield somehow managed to develop a new crack and I’m pissed. It had a tiny one in it when I bought the truck and I had safelight seal it. But it’s always been there bugging me. Now that there’s a new crack I have an excuse to get a new windshield. It’s on the to do list shortly and when the new one gets installed I’m going to ceramic coat it with hydro slick.
