I found out what the thumping feeling was in my floorboard. It’s vibration transferred from a bad bushing at the driver side upper control arm rear bushing. I had some penetrating grease to try to lube it up. Stuff I have might not be good enough. Anyone have recommendations on a good spray lube for bushings. I have a few in the back that squeak when I hit a big bump. Rather try to quite them down for now until I can get around to replacing them.

Today I’m trying to diagnose why I have a dead missfire on cylinder 4.

These are the drivers side spark plugs. 1 and 7 are wet. I’m having P0304- missfire on cyl 4. Two out of the three I removed on drivers side were finger tight. Didnt even need ratchet. Will do compression test, and then reinstall plugs and actually tighten them down and see if it runs. If not, gonna do it all over again and pull passenger side head to get a look at the #4 lifters.

You may not even have to pull the heads, a least, not for the diagnosing part. Once you get the rocker covers off, you may have your answer.

I am confused... you are trying to diagnose a misfire on cylinder 4 and you pulled the drivers side plugs???

ya that would be cool, valentine one has some options to hide it in the grill and then have the display wherever you want it, in that case you would want (2) one for the front and one for the rear, years ago they even made some that were built into the drivers side mirror but not very hidden that way and it was only for a lambo or something like that

The new Kenwood HU I just installed has radar detector integration... but it's kinda pricey IMO

Of course I don't really speed anyway so its kind of pointless for me... I guess I'm getting old... lol

Ya I read up on the Kenwood's, they also have a dash cam that can do all the lane keep and object brake alert, I don't think it would be very beneficial for me I drive in out of slow moving traffic to much

Uh yeah...kinda pricey is an understatement.

They have a cheaper version for around $8-900. I'm not real certain what the difference is other than one has laser "jammers" and the other one doesn't maybe... I don't know... didn't really study them too closely.

Yeah the integrated dash cam looks like it would be pretty cool.

Did a little more testing on the charging system now that I have mechman installed and both battery's insulated, no matter what I turned on or off the fuel economy mode is staying inactive and battery temp is staying lower it was 92 today and even after I let it sit for 20-30 minutes in the sun after a 30 minute drive it didn't go above 88, it stayed 80-82 while I was driving, so maybe the insulation helps? Not sure guess I will check again next time it goes over 100deg, voltage is staying above 13volts and it's not draining the batteries with negative amps

Stand alone dashcam's are getting pretty good, the real good ones are in Europe, I have my eye on this one lately

that one allows you to hook it up and i think it has a motion sensor that will turn on automatic recording if someone walks by your vehicle, most of them only start recording if someone hits the vehicle (after you have parked)
