It was only a matter of time. They're fairly common on mowers and even heavy equipment:

Saw a diy where a guy had a flat mower tire so he removed the schrader valve drilled holes in the tire filled it with expanding foam insulation and knocked off the foam that came through the holes. Top that

All nails and screws should be marked so they can be traced back to the owner.
they can trace it back to the owner just like the FBI can trace a 20 year old battery back to it's owner

mowers are not the same as cars

WEIGHT issue but you are better off making a tire from a tree log

it's renewable and is safe for the environment

So when your tread wears out you have to replace the wheels AND tires? Seems expensive and wasteful.

I thought of that too, but maybe they don’t wear out. How cool would that be?

If you think about it, having a tire than can never go flat is pretty cool. 100 years after we've been making cars, still if you drive over a nail, you get a flat tire no matter how expensive your car is. If/when this works, it'll be huge imo.

I saw on a Volt Forum elswhere that they are supposedly going to use it on the Bolt EV first...:

that video is quite old the concept has been around for a while and tested quite a bit. the original concept was for Humvees for military use. its late so im not going to try to find that video too but its pretty cool. the military one that was tested withstood a grenade enough that it was able to drive away.
