Yeah but my ratchet method is still the simplest and easiest. Nothing like a nice ratchet handle to get a good grip. People are always telling me to get a grip so there I am.

i have direct experience with leaky injectors on my 6.2 CTS V at 45,000 miles. On occasion I would start it up and blue smoke literally enveloped it. It was embarrassing. My mechanic gave me an article in a tech magazine specific to Techron. It was developed by Mobil. He told me to use a bottle a tank for 6 fill-ups. If it did not work he would put new injectors in for free. Never had the problem again. Still clear when I sold it with 208,000 miles on it.

Snake oil is prevalent in these additives. Be careful. By the way, changing the oil in a snake can get difficult in a hurry, depending on species.

Redline S-1 is also good. Techron's secret ingredient is PEA, which currently Redline has the highest concentration as a few years ago Techron reduced their concentration according to their MSDS.

If you do not own a pair of Hose Pliers get some. They work very well for spark plug wires but also for any hose that is stuck.

Once you own a set of these you will be amazed how often you grab them for jobs.

Well folks, I woke up Sunday Morning and began my venture. I had every tool and recommendation that I read about here on the forum. The temperature outside was about 56 degrees, I gave myself a 3 hour window to replace the #8 issue from hell. I disconnected the cannister hose easily enough, placed a bungee cord around the heater hoses to hold them up for added space and then proceeded to remove the plastic cover that goes over the ignition coils. Holy Sh##, it took me 10 minutes to snap it off and then I attempted to lift it off but could not wedge it out from the back no matter what I did. After a whole 45 minutes of this and some choice words, I decided to end the charade before I broke one of those super sensitive plastic fittings that connect the heater hoses to the firewall. I decided to clean out my garage and put my Christmas decorations away properly. On Monday morning, I dropped off my truck to my mechanic that did lots of work for me when I had my LTZ. I stay away from the dealer religiously because they are thieves. I had already purchased a new AC Delco spark plug (10.99), AC Delco ignition coil ($103.00 as opposed to the dealers $162) and had to buy an entire set of AC Delco wires ($93 as opposed to the dealers $150) because they didn't have just one. I had already made up my mind earlier on Sunday that I was going to replace everything new only because it was in the # 8 spot and I wasn't going to go through that hell again. He looked at me and laughed and said to come back in 1 hour. I came back about 2 hours later and it was parked in the lot, ready to go home. When I asked him what the bill was, he looked at me and said "buy me lunch". I ordered Chicken Parm heroes, salad and soda for him and the other 2 mechanics for tomorrow. And btw, the truck rides like a dream again, no shakes as it enters 60K miles.
