Not to stray too far into the boring and off topic, but to me, that's exactly why Youtube (and other places) is so bad for humanity. No longer do we have to use ingenuity. Just Youtube it. We'll all look like the people from Wall-E.

Haven't seen Wall-E yet.

To remain on this thread's topic:

I replaced the crappy drain valve on my catch can. The handle just spins cuz I "didn't stop right when it felt like it was gonna go soft". I torqued it to 2.7 grunts last time I closed it. It snapped and free-spinned and that's where it stayed. Upgraded to a 1/4-turn ball valve- Five minute/$8 upgrade.

"Grunts" are not a German torque metric. You have skillz, though.

I'm neither classy or privileged enough to use the Güdendheit torque metric. Cro-Magnon has always been more my style.

Skillz? Thanks, but it was just a screw-out/screw-in replacement. These things should come with such a valve.

Is that a phone camera? Looks awful high quality from here (though I've had some wine).

You've had some good wine. It's an iPhone 5S that's over 5 years old and it's picture capabilities reflect that.

Yeah I did that too. Don’t see why they’d use the silly drain **** valve [emoji107]

It's an easy fix! I got the valve from Lowe's in the air compressor parts section. I'm sure it's cheaper online but I was already there and wanted to do it that afternoon while I was thinking of it.

I thought of another use for it:

I could screw a threaded barb fitting into the bottom of it then slip a fuel-rated hose on it and I'd have an easy and controllable way to introduce an upper engine cleaner (the GM stuff, Seafoam, etc.).

Got the "ghetto fab 3000" PVC intake tube done and installed today. It isn't as refined as I'd like. I didn't get the angles just right before I glued it all together. I tend to be a little OC, so I'm not thrilled with fitment, but it had started drizzling rain when I was doing my dry test fit/adjustment, so, it is what it is. It's installed and seemingly functioning just fine. Only a short 15 min test drive post-install. Definitely a bit more noise from the engine. Seems to have more crisp part throttle response.

I'll probably still keep an eye out for a good deal on an Airaid tube, but this works for now and at only about $38 invested, didn't break the bank. Not sure I'll even take the time or money to paint/coat it for now.
