installed a maestro rr, gm2, nex-w8400
I have rap power but.... now it shuts off if any door is opened instead of just the drivers door
so does anyone know which factory wire is rap?
I am thinking I might be able to bypass the maestro module and just run accessory from the factory rap wire if maestro doesn't have a fix there closed at the moment.

Not sure how yours worked before but my '08 has always worked as you described... any door open shuts off the RAP.

on my truck it should only shut off if the drivers door is opened, even states it in the manual and in the GM upfitter guide, when I had the factory radio it worked properly, and when I had the pac module in with the nex-8200 it worked properly, now with maestro RR it doesn't.
also if you are on onstar call it should stay on even if you open the drivers door until the call is ended.
my 2003 Silverado does it right and it has a cheap $20 walmart pac adapter in it
my 00 nbs was the same way, power stayed on until the drivers door was opened
after 15 years of having it work that way it's aggravating because the kids will open a door and jump out and I usually make sure all the windows are up and things are put out of sight or whatever before I get out so it works out fine because I shut off the truck doors automatically unlock and kids jump out and I still have power until I open my door

ok, maybe the window power shuts off if any door is opened (i'm thinking not though with the pac adapter)
but it says right in the manual::
Retained Accessory
Power (RAP)
The following vehicle accessories
can be used for up to 10 minutes
after the engine is turned off:
. Audio System
. Power Windows
. OnStar System (if equipped)
. Sunroof (if equipped)
These features work when the key
is in ON/RUN or ACC/
ACCESSORY. Once the key is
turned from ON/RUN to LOCK/OFF,
the windows and sunroof continue
to work up to 10 minutes until any
door is opened. The radio continues
to work for up to 10 minutes or until
the driver door is opened.

I looked at the wiring for the radios and didn't see anything about that. I'm obviously not looking for the right thing.
ya I looked at the upfitter wiring diagrams and none are specified as RAP, ADS is looking into it and is supposed to get back to me, I guess if nothing else I can trace back the yellow wire from the radio side and go from there but the audio shop tech probably knows which one or maybe has a solution but i'm just waiting to hear back from ADS before I try to do it different. the serial data bus sure makes things difficult sometimes.

You mentioned a yellow wire. One yellow wire has to do with the rear speakers. The other goes from the radio to what's called an Audio/Video Adapter. It's listed as a positive wire though and bundled with a white negative and a bare wire. RAP is intimately tied to Onstar, maybe it's over there and not the radio?

well when you use a adapter that connects to the stock radio harness and converts it use with a aftermarket radio the standard is then red & yellow for power on the aftermarket side of the harness, so theoretically I should be able to trace that wire back to the stock side and see which one it is but these are not analog anymore so I don't know if that will work or not. the aftermarket side connects to a module that deciphers the serial data and decides what to do with it.

RAP power is accessible in only one place that I know of - at the LEFT IP Junction block. This is the junction block on the firewall between the foot brake and the e-brake pedal.

If you remove the cover, you'll see two columns of ports, some that have plugs plugged into them, as well as a few that do not have anything plugged in (depending on your trim and options).

The 2nd port up from the bottom left should be open (it has 8 metal pins you can slide connectors onto) and is the port that has IGN, 12V CONSTANT, RAP ACCY & GROUND in it.

The pins are numbered from RIGHT to LEFT:

Top row starting at top right: pins 1,3,5,7.
Bottom row starting at bottom right: pins 2,4,6,8

GROUND is pin 1 (top right)

IGNITION 12V is pin 7 (top left)

CONSTANT 12V is pin 5 (2nd from top left)

RAP ACCY 12V is pin 8 (bottom left). It should act the same way the RAP circuit works on the factory radio.

great, do you know if that is the rap for just the drivers door or for all doors

i'm waiting for them to re-write the firmware again as of this morning, so if they cant make it work then I will have to patch in there, mine are all occupied (Denali) so I would have to patch into one of the connectors from behind
