Has anyone tried these rotors

Wondering if these are worth the extra cost.Im sick of my brakes they suck.I have power slot rotors and good pads but it still doesn't stop like i want it to.I also put the stainless lines helped a bit.Overall disgusted with this braking system need an upgrade.I couldnt even get the antilock brakes to activate today from 60mph.I have the hydroboost system if that gets asked.If anyone has tried these rotors what do you think.Pics???https://www.autoanything.com/brakes/61A3943A0A0A2635083.aspx

just what dont ya like about the brakes? keep in mind its heavy ass boat. not a sports car.

i run R1 e line drilled and slotted with their scorched ceramic pads. use them on all my cars. they got bite and stop damn good on everything so far. replacement pads are cheap too down the road. the hoe ran me 200 shipped off the r1 ebay store.

Way to much pedal pressure to even get it to stop,i dont drive it daily maybe 1 time a month.I feel if i had to make an emergeny brake im screwed.So i want to install the big brake kit not sure of the proper verbage of what its called on here.Just wondering if anyone ever installed these big rotors??

You have the stock NBS brakes? Theres the NNBS brake upgrade. There is also the Z06 upgrade

Maybe I need to go read up more, but I've always thought cross drilled was to let the gas out and to help with cooling. They provide less surface area (slow you down less for one stop), but will cool off better for multiple stops. If you brake frequently because you are driving like you are on a race course, or if you ride someone's tail and brake too often, they are good, but are worse than only slotted or just then what blanks would be, if you want/need that one big quick stop. Kind of like saying blanks/slotted are best for a driving style for the country. Cross drilled are better for a driving style as if you were in the city.


I HAVE TO ASK, just to make sure: If you are getting too much pedal travel with hydroboost are you sure its bled properly with fresh fluid?

you mean the pedal is hard as a rock all the time? that would not be the brakes themselves.

Brakes have been bleed and new fluid-all 4 new rotors and tried 2 different pads.Same result pedal feels mushy like their is cardboard between the pad and rotor.No the pedal is not hard as a rock not at all.I dont care how much this thing ways it should stop alot faster than what it does.I have done brakes for 20 yrs this is the worst factory brakes i have felt.I am wanting to change calipers to the newer yrs 07 and up with the bigger rotors.If that doesnt work im smashing it into a wall.

ok, try this, hdro bleed.

jack up the front of the truck, i use the K frame up front, lift the whole thing up. then engine running, pump the brake pedal 20 times, then turn the engine off but key to run and turn the wheels lock to lock 15 times.

just about every time i do this fluid shoots out the p/s res, so lay some card board down just encase its burps and pushes fluid out. ive done it cap off and on, both times is a mess. choice is yours here lol

if you let your master run dry or damn near close to dry, you might need to bleed it as well. with a pedal pusher pump the brakes up, hold the brakes and crack the line nut on the master, ( just like a caliper bleeder) if its got air you will hear it spitting out, repeat till its just fluid on both lines. i like to break it free, then snug it up wrench on the nut, then i like to wrap a rag around the line nut. keeps fluid from going all over. then you will need to re bleed all 4 calipers.

Just to ask the obvious, but are all of your bleed screws facing up? Sounds like air in the system or caliper issues.. my brakes felt like that before the hydroboost. I'd recommend bleeding the hydroboost as well.

I think you should just torch it and buy a Prius. I hear they stop real good. Or man up and buy some Wilwoods.

For feel: have you driven another vehicle with hydroboost to compare with? They have a very unique and distinctive pedal feel, nothing like a traditional system.

For lack of braking power... How's your power steering pump? How fare are you moving the pedal?

I see you have Goodridge lines. Did you do front and back? Also what bleeder specifically..pressure or vacuum bleeder?

Ok so lets try this again-no it doesnt feel like their is air in the system at all.When i push the pedal down i can feel it try to stop just barely touching the pedal.SO bleed correctly-the problem is i keep pushing harder to get the thing to stop-it does get a little better when hot that is what has me confused.That is why i tried 2 different sets of pads.I have driven with hydroboost before and the brakes felt fine.I tired to smash the pedal doing 50 or so and the anti lock brakes wouldnt even come on-3 times i tried and they started to by the 3rd time.The pads just feel like they dont have enough bite-im hoping going with a bigger piston caliper and larger rotor i would notice a gigantic difference and be happy.I like the wilwoods but around 4000 is a little steep.This way i would only have to do the fronts.Stock 07 and up calipers are cheap-its the rotors i want 14 inch sounds like overkill but i think thats what i need.I really only use this to tow a light fishing boat.God forbid if i had to make a emergency stop with that on the back im screwed.So im asuming since no one answered my question if any one has tried these rotors that no one has-maybe im the guinea pig

Maybe the ABS module is bad and affecting overall feel.

Didn't read whole thread but have you done an automated ABS bleed with a tool capable?

I’m also thinking there is an ABS problem- possible air in the ABS or a module malfunction which is causing problems. However I’m not too familiar with hydroboost systems so IDK.
