Just spent 8 hours last weekend repairing something just like this on my wife's LaCrosse. Was a paint but it paid off, used nothing more than duplicolor perfect match and 3M sandpaper. Turned out great.

Put on a AP Exhaust Xcelerator muffler, p/n XS2589. Basically a Magnaflow 12589 knock off.

Cut off that huge, ugly resonator and installed the SLP Delete kit. A reasonably inexpensive, quick & simple mod that makes the rig look a lot better and sound a tad better, too, especially at start-up.

Pulled the curled door trim off. Took the wife's hair dryer and heated it up. Peeled off like a charm. Took the 3M eraser to it, then followed up with some Turtle wax finishing compound. Came out perfect like it was never installed to begin with. Pics to come later.

What is your go to spray wax?

I have pretty good results with this one. Easy on and off, keeps the shine especially after the last big detail and repels the water nicely. Paint still feels slick.

A) Tune
B) LT Headers
C) Retro

You want noise because noise or better light at night?
Cost and time considerations and the itch to have what done...

Do headers before tune either way.

Retro.

Touch choice. Maybe headers and tune because can enjoy t both day and night driving first then retro. Just my .02 since you asked. :)

Edited:

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. Thankfully I didn't call anybody a bad auto correct name. lol

I was trying to make a noise or light output choice.
Do you want to hear the headers now and have a bit more performance with the tune or do you want to see better light at night is what I was after?

I like the idea of headers then tune either close together or even apart is okay, but I think the headers taken into account with the tune is a better option. The retro is an instant win no matter how you look at it and instantly aesthetically pleasing.

Hope that makes more sense in answering your original post...lol. Sorry for confusion.

Not gonna sugar coat it, had to read that twice before it made sense. Appreciate the input.

So if I've got 4-6 months between these mods, would you still say headers first? Just curious because that's likely what will happen.
