My 03 Z71 pulling a 25' camper over the summer.
I had an electric brake controller put in, and it made pulling it pretty nice!

Weight sway is definitely needed makes the trailer way more stable. I work at an Rv dealer and we come across some nice used pieces from time to time. Let me know if you are interested.

Trooper your bars should be more parallel. We just had a guy come in snap a bar because they were not level. Raise your head unit up a little to level those out to relieve the strain on the head itself.

This was the way that camping world installed the hitch. I dont have any other clue what im doing. this is my frist RV... Im getting helper air bag just to help with the hole towing ride. So my hitch ball needs to come up? wouldnt this still mean i have to take an up an extra link on the chains?

No your bars need to be level and we have found that camping world installs leave a lot to be desired. Quick tip, level camper and set the top of your ball1" higher than hookup and have bars level to the bottom of the a-frame. Too much lift on those bars the hitch doesn't work together.

^^^ above agree..

Also set them up in a flat parking lot. So you can get camper and to rife perfectly level. Takes little time for setup. But once setup. You never have to do it again. Hitch and roll. And also setup loaded. As the added weight will make a diff on the bars.

looking at getting some "air lift" brand air bags. what are your thoughts?

---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:52 PM ----------

also i see my hitch has an angle ajustment so this could be used to set the angle of those spring bars? so if i need more load i can move the hitch so that under load my bars are always parallel? It realy pisses me off that i cant trust people to do good work...If you want it done right you have to become an expert yourself and then do the work youself! no matter how much you spend you can never trust your getting quality work!...thank for some real advice guys!

Yes there is tip. You want a slight tip towards the trailer when not hooked up. So when you put your bars on your ball shifts to level with the weight being equalized. Every shop is different and I know camping world does not push for certification and training. I am certified by the RVIA and we do training yearly so we are up to ***** on new regs. Biggest change is on weight ratings on FW hitches. Everyone needs to limit their liability. Search equalizer brand weight distribution it is called E2. Look for install instructions as they are very good and straight forward and easy to understand.

thanks a bunch!

They seem like simple things but when installed wrong can make your towing very dangerous. At our dealership we want you safe and happy campers. If you have any other questions let me know or if you want some gear for the camper I can be on the lookout for stuff.

Hahahaha true. Only one size bigger and no one needs it but the 12,000 lbs hitch is not needed. At that weight you go FW.
