Where is the leak? Oil Pressure Sending Unit Replacement

couple more pics. Valve cover bolts seemed plenty tight. it sure looks like they are dry to me (everywhere i can see). the only wet thing on top i see is actually around the filler neck, it looks like its not really in there very well haha.

here's some pics, as good as i could take, the valve covers look nice and dry? btw, anyone else have problems uploading pics from phone? i always have to resize them down on my computer now since the site changed.

I have a motor out on the stand, i see your complaint on the back of my motor, I think it's could be the cam sensor right next to the oil pressure sensor. I have the same oil leak i am trying to fix before it goes in.
I think it will be very hard to see in the truck but try to have a very good look with a mirror, maybe that could be your problem. yes I have to resize the pictures also. i will try to get a pic of the back of my motor to show you.

Right beside the oil pressure sensor is another sensor. My guess is it's the cam sensor. My is wet like you two. The oil thing I can think of is its the sensor on the right. I hope this helps you guys. I will be taking it off later to see if there is an o-ring.

Ok. I had a few mins so here it is. It is a cam sensor but the oil seal is at the bottom. Not very smart of gm. On the top no gasket or o-ring. This seems to be my problem.

Cool thanks. Looks like that's something I can take off without removing the intake or something huh?

it will be tight but it should be doable. 10 mm is the size of the bolt for the sensor,to turn the sensor a few times and get a small pick to lift it out. shouldn't be too hard , move your oil pressure sensor to have that extra room. let me know how you make out.

Go to my first and second pic and scroll in. You will see the oil pressure sensor on the left and the cps on the right. If you still need another pic let me know I will take another

Did you replace the whole sensor or just the o ring? Where could I find the original, I don't need to replace the entire sensor as it works fine and I don't want to possibly have to have dealer reset it or whatever

I had a o-ring kit and just replaced the o-ring. It looked ok but I replaced it anyway. I also put a small amount of silicone around the top where it bolts. The is no seal there or any gasket and that's the only place I think it could have been comming from.

My opinion is leave your o-ring and clean the mounting surface and try a bit of silicone. I wouldn't put a lot incase you ever need to change it. If you had too much you will probably have to take your intake off to replace it next time.

Nut and bolt supply store. Or Napa,pep boys. Start with that. We have different part store here so I am not sure what you guys have around you. But I love close to the border and cross often. I have seen these stores. Last place to check maybe the dealer. I had an assortment of them I had in my garage from other projects.

Oh so you didn't use he "special" o ring, just a regular black one?

Any updates? My update is after cleaning around the sensors and all around the engine I think it comes down to the oil pan gasket. I've run out of time and leave for Florida on Saturday so I'll get back to it and swap that out when I return in 2 weeks. After that I'll post back hopefully my solution and last complaint about my leak. Fingers crossed.
