Daaammn!! Mine died on the side of the road and I had to tow it to a shop. Cost me $525 out the door with Delphi pump. Looks like they doubled their money on that pump......you got pumped and shafted.

I have a 95 4dr Tahoe and my fuel pump went awhile back and was nowhere near that, I could look and see how much if it matters at all

LOL

well my receipt says it's a AC/DELCO Fuel Pump, not sure if that is more expensive or if there is just a premium on being Canadian.

I would appreciate it, also if you could let me know what kind of fuel pump you put in and where you live. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with being north of the border.

I think the issue is you got the whole assembly as most of us hopping up our stuff will replace just the pump part ...

Well that makes more sense, i was seriously starting to shit bricks but i think you might be right.

What about the labor, do you guys think i was over charged for that or is it just the parts (specifically the AC/DELCO FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY MU17777)?

The funny thing about the ACDelco fuel pump is it's actually manufactured by Carter. There are actually 4 different pumps available for MY 1999, however price is relatively the same and range from $200-255 USD. Additionally, I'm willing to bet that because GM discontinues parts after 10 years the dealership used an aftermarket fuel pump and marked it up 70% above their cost in order to make 40% net profit.

Just cleaned my puppies "accident" off the back seat. They got into the back and ate a dozen donuts this morning. I knew they would catch up to em sooner or later.

I had to put out a small engine fire today.

I drove it to the gym and back and decided to add some brake fluid when I got home. I over filled it and upon closing the lid, some poured out, hit the exhaust manifold, and before I knew it there a small fire.

I had a fire extinguisher handy and I used it to put out the fire before anything was damaged. (Thank gawd)

Yeah they had fun back there. Used some turtle wax brand stuff for upholstery cleaning it worked alright but still smells like cleaning products all inside like some freshly cleaner bathroom. Ordering my heater controls on amazon now.

Changed the face of the clock I installed recently to a white faced. Also put an LED light above it for night viewing.

Yeah that phrase is more appropriate. Even a delphi assembly is $232 retail price at oreilys or $150 at amazon.

yeah you got SHAFTED on that fuel pump change. put in a delphi pump with a new (technical name escaped me) hanger assembly in mine and even based on your parts cost came in much lower.

didn't do anything to/with mine other than look at it. short road trip with it tomorrow.

Got a quote for a Gibson cat-back exhaust. Tried finding same from Magnaflow only to find out they don't make one for a 2dr. tahoe. LAME! I asked the tech if I ordered one for a 4dr and shortened the tail pipe would it work. His response was that the warranty would be voided. Would flat out not respond whether or not my idea would work. So I said 'well guess i'll go over to Gibson..

I found a bumper from a florida truck on craigslist yesterday for $100, talked him down to $80. It's in awesome condition, hardly a spot on it. Now all I need is the bracket kit, and probably a plasma cutter to get the old one off...

Currently chasing down a bull bar off an F-250 with a pair of Hella 500's on it. He's asking $250, I'm gonna see if I can get him to $200 :)
