What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Stupid waterpump was leaking , so new water pump, new windshield , rear sway bar links , and slapped on some rancho rs-5000's.......left rear shock bolt hits the gas tank WTF? Had to bend the mount to get shock off.

Want a WTF? Look at the forward leaf spring mount on that side

Today I installed brand new leaf springs, shackles, bolts, and U bolts. Then I put brand new shock all the way around. After that I pulled the tranny pan to put new filter and gasket in hopefully that fixes my leak. And did a lot of cussing

Hey Thanx guys! 99hoe I will grab a side pic and get the tire size for ya! The add a leaf brought the back up a full inch and 3/4! So she's got a nice rake look now, I also turned the bars up and got 3/4 of an inch so Atleast my lights aren't pointing under the truck! Lol until I get the side pic, enjoy this one after I got it back on the ground in the shop, you couldn't see control arms before!

I did the pressure test on the CATs... looks like its time to upgrade to the magnaflow cats. If I can convince my wife that it costs 600$ I will be getting the JBA headers too.

How about a "What did you do with your OBS this Week"?

Brought it back to the Off-Road Shop Monday morning for them to install a Slip Yoke Eliminator, Custom Drive Shaft and fix a leak on the Front Differential from the re-gear job they did last week.

First, I got a call that the Slip Yoke Eliminator will not work with the Auto shift Transfer Case my Hoe has but after 4 days in the shop I got it back yesterday with a new lengthened custom drive shaft with an extra u-joint on the transfer case end to help flatten out the angle of the driveshaft. They also fixed the Front Diff leak.

The new shaft took care of some of the vibration that the Hoe had after the re-gear but there was still some vibration up front. We pulled the front drive shaft, test drove again and the vibration disappeared. Now I have to get the frond drive shaft checked, if its not out of balance, I guess I will have to get a custom shaft for the front too.

This morning I was off work so I pulled the new JVC stereo that I had just put in my 95' back in December and installed it in the 99'. Then went to the audio store and got a cheap Pioneer stereo for the 95'. The 95' goes up for sale next week now that the 99' is ready to go.

This afternoon I got a Custom Tune for the 99' from a local guy. He had tuned my son's 02' Z71 after his lift and tires. The tune that the guy did sounds similar to what Black Bear does. He used a program on his laptop to do the tune. He got my Speedometer and Odometer zeroed in, added some horsepower, leaned the fuel delivery some and made the transmission shift points sharper. All and all the Hoe performs much better than before. After the tune I topped off the gas tank so I can check fuel mileage.

Also, i remember somebody asked about the repro grille from LMC fitting properly or not. it fits just fine.

I can't tell from the picture, is the Bowtie emblem recessed into the grille like on the stock one, or does it stand out? I need one for my 99', the chrome is peeling.

Unfortunately, not fully. Thats the only gripe I had about this grille. The bow tie is recessed into the grille on each side, but the top and bottom edges are left open. It still looks alright, but I wish it had the full recessing of the stock grille, just looks cleaner IMO. But hey, $150 for this one versus $350 for an OEM on, I guess I can deal with it.

aftermarket parts have to have i think 14points that are different then stock parts.. not sure what a point is considered but that may be one. lol

Then yeah, thats probably it. Because the rest of the grille is almost an exact copy of the original.
