got my upstream o2 sensors put in on my 97 tahoe, changed spark plugs with NGK TR55 and spark plug wires with Bosch 09768. Runs a whole lot smoother, and maybe get a little better mpg. Also ordered Mevotech supreme idler arm, idler arm bracket, and pitman arm, im hoping that they are good quality parts. and in a couple more weeks to a month im going to be ordering inner and outer tie rod ends probably Mevotech supreme also, whole upper control arms for both sides either Mevotech supreme or Dorman I haven't decided yet, Kyb mono max front and back shocks, and inside door handles for driver side front and back doors also Dorman. and I believe that is all for now

Got torn into my parts truck today, stripped the entire front clip all of the hoses and wiring. Got to get the nv4500 unbolted and get it all pulled out later this week. Finally got the project tahoe started for the first time (starter was bad) and there is definitely a spun main, the thing squeals like a stuck pig. Can't wait to get it out and toss the good engine in.

Trans is apart. My boy is looking to see if 80 parts would work on The 60. Highly doubt it tho

'96 Tahoe LT 2 dr. New rubber. Uniroyal Laredo WWL out. 16" - I decided to stay with 16" wheels due to cost and a cool retro look with white letters out.

Replaced the outer door handle last week. Washed it today and fixed the loose heat shield on the muffler.

Strapped the k&n intake from my rolled parts truck onto my daily. Sounds awesome and seems to be getting better mileage, maybe 1.5mpg better

Howdy everyone! I've been lurking for a long time and thought I would join the fun.

I put some craigslist treasures on the Tahoe today, some H3 wheels.

She has 140k on her and she has a fresh water pump, intake gaskets, fuel pump, plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor, and a BRAND NEW GM 4l60e.

Tires are Toyo AT II in the 265 flavor.

Looking forward to interacting with everyone. Thanks - JJ

Thanks @noJeepshere - I like you rig too.

@2doorfiend Yes, I have seen your rig many times. Its looking great with lift! Reminds me of my first Tahoe.
1996, 6" Superlift, 33x13.50 Super Swamper LTB's (6 months later went to 35 Toyo AT), 15x10 AE 102 wheels... made a dumb decision to trade it in... Now I have the red one to start over with...

Pic of my old one:

The rear sits really low in this picture. I added an extra 1.5" lift in the back right after this picture was taken.

@jj286, oh my, those are some MEATY tires, what made you trade it in?? that thing looks awesome! really clean too. I like the new rig, but, as you can tell, black hits a sweet spot for me.

what are your plans for big red?

I traded it in for new Titan... I got the new truck bug. Stupid...

The tires "looked" cool but only lasted about 12k miles. They rode like squares.

My plans for the red one are...
New paint (shes a 50 footer now)
4" Rough Country lift
Tire and wheel combo undecided... something in the 33 range
My daughter tells me every time that she rides with me that I "def. need some steps"
Replace worn parts in the steering.
Brakes: Calipers, SS Lines, pads, rotors, drums, master cylinder.

Man this list could go on an on... mechanically she is sound now.

Nothing big. Changed the oil and noticed that the oil cooler lines have been leaking. Mobil 1 5w30 High Mileage and OEM filter. Just turned 210k miles as well.

Ordered a new set of headers and bought some felpro gaskets for them
Do yourself a favor and get the compressed graphite ones, I originally put fel-pro gaskets when I did my headers and they never sealed properly and totally gave up after 3000 miles. The compressed graphite gaskets are much nicer.
