Works fine.

It was fun watching instantaneous economy. Low of 3mpg up to 59. One is closer to reality than the other.
Are you going to reach out to Range about the issue with the bad one? Maybe there is a reset or something.

Warranty InformationTo request warranty service please email [email protected] or call 1-866-404-6141. Range Technology warrants the covered product to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period one (1) year from date of purchase. This warranty extends to the original buyer only.

that being said, some places offer a trade-in or flat rate repair which is cheaper than a new one, might be worth a shot

Trying to get under 3mpg. Did a range of throttle conditions that would normally trigger V4, but it stayed in V8 as desired.

I was half thinking of popping the case open to see if there was something obvious that jumped to my attention.

finally got around to checking alignment after seeing feathering on the outside of my front tires.

almost a half inch of total toe in.

blah but luckily the tie rod adjusters broke free pretty easily. set it I just a touch negative and let it ride.

camber looks like -0.25 drivers and 0 on passengers. I didn't mess with it since I figured that's within the spec of my floor haha. ain't a flat spot in it

Toe plates?

I have toe plates that also do camber. but honestly find it eaiser to setup string between 4 jack stands. I find toe plates not every repeatable when you're playing at an 1/8in range and they don't fit well with my turn plates. so oddly I use my toe plates for camber haha.

sounds like compared to what they go thru ours was very laxed anyways. Just the annoyances of driving to the shop every year.

and they left the cost in, so we are still paying for an inspection but not getting it lol.

all I can do is shake my head. on top of it, because they got rid of inspection, emissions testing kicks in the next year. so it's a net loss for me. now I still gotta go by the shop but before it would pass even with a check engine light on. now I gotta make sure all the emissions nonsense is passed for a small fleet of trucks that are tagged still.
blah.
I moved from the People's Republic of Kalifornia to Wyoming.
I no longer have to smog my Yukon every 2 years nd there are zero state inspections.
When I move my other cars out here it will be quick and painless.
Just need a VIN verification and pay the fees.

growing up in Florida I didn't know how good we had it since cops checking for cats was always a thread they yelled at us. but after moving and having to do emissions, it's annoying haha. tx hypes itself up a lot which makes it even more annoying I gotta deal with it here.

Cali emissions would suck but atleast out side of big cities it seems nice and it's every 2 years? at least the parts I've been to. here pretty blah to be honest. I pay 10k a year property tax for a nothing special house and still gotta deal with emissions. where's the upside to the shit.

Got to play as an EOD tech. today. Happy to report I didn't blow a hole through my face.

Swapped in some 5100s in the front, but as usual the old nuts/threads were rusty/crusty. Everything was a fight, but I figured out an easy way to get the old shocks apart. Just use a sawzall and cutting disc. I was already cutting the old shocks apart to reuse the spring perch, when the 2nd shock top but wouldn't come off I just cut piston in half.

1st shock came apart without cutting, but what a terrible design having the nut on top of the piston recessed down inside the top of the strut mount.

Old spring perch welded ....FUUUUUUUUUU

1st bomb reassembled.

2nd bomb: Top nut was rusted too much to get off, so I started chopping it up to drain the fluid.

Said "F that" and just zipped the bottom off.

Had to preserve the top strut mount, but the nut was welded with rust, so I cut the piston, ground some flats so it would hold in my tiny crappy vise, and just twisted the nut until the piston shaft sheared off. (Semi-diffused bomb on the floor, awaiting reinstallation.)

Time for more zipping.

And...installed. It was raining outside so that made everything 10x more fun.

Also swapped on my winter wheels/tires. I'll have to check how the car sits in the daylight. I set the 5100s to their highest setting.

I finally realized there was no upside to living in Calif and fled the state.
The cost of living is insane and the regulations are even more insane.
The local police are more interested in pulling you over and writing tickets for more revenue than actually dealing with actual criminals.
I am very glad I left and it's been less than 6 months.
