Drove it 2500 miles over 2 weeks with about 2000 of those miles towing. Ran great, towed like a beast. We invited our son's girlfriend along because it would cause him to at least act like he's having fun some of the time. It worked. She is 2 years older than he is, and wise. She called him on his shit every time and was a general delight to have along with us.

On trips like this we remember why a pickup will never work for us - at least not while we're hauling kids. We needed all 3 rows for people, and the dog had 2/3 of the cargo area to herself.

Sorry if I "irk" you. Not sure what I did to offend you. Was not intended.

"cold air intakes" are mostly hot air intakes that are worse than stock in everything but sitting on a dyno with the hood open and a fan blowing on it.

in the real world of daily driving in traffic, they don't seal to the fender well sucking hot air from under the hood and the metal tub heat soaks from sitting on top of a 200deg radiator.

I think that's what he means by ugh.

Good insight. Thanks!

there's 2 I know of that have a snorkel down as sort of a ram air. both have a completely enclosed box too, but over 500$ each.

the Volant and the gale banks.. I'd personally lead towards banks being more legit but he doesn't offer one for mine. but I think he does for the normal ones.

Diagnosed an exhaust leak and made a hose a little prettier.

yeah? what do you think of it? what brand?
I have the Volant. Even before all my mods it was loud. I'd give it a 1/4 pedal and it sounded like I was romping it. Didn't sound bad at all, just loud. I like it.

What is the black cylinder right beside your Alternator? I noticed it in your Profile pic. Mine does not have that.

I've been tempped a few times to older one of theirs. I sifll might.

I like that it's sealed up and the snorkel is interesting to see if it helps. I'm looking for a little power at cruising speeds on the interstate before it has to (down shift) to hold a speed while towing. I was thinking this and open the spring loaded flap in the exhaust might just do that. I don't really care anything about wot power with this truck. I'm searching for the less than 50% throttle body opening and under 2k rpm tq increase.
