Well, got about a hundred miles on it so far, everything is ready except for the EVAP system...

Sort of running out of time here, not sure if it needs more cycles or if I do have an issue even though there's been no check engine light.

Do they make you have them all in a ready status?
Evap takes an insane amount of time to complete its test cycle, and temps have to fall within a range...

Here it's the one expected to be in a pending.

If I remember correctly, it all need to be in a ready state.
I'll have to double check, I know NY let me get away with one not ready.

Last night i loaded up the tune with the 6.2 timing and torque management.
I missed the low-end from that tune. :peace:

Wideband showed a bit leaner, but the computer quickly adjusted and it's looking much better.

Next: time to start tuning.
I don't trust it for wot yet, but I love being able to idle around everywhere again.

Freeway, it holds 6th gear at 80mph no problem.
So much better.

I would love to see what these settings do for a 5.3.
I think the biggest change will be on the torque management stuff.
I have yet to try just the timing changes.
I went straight for the timing + torque management settings. :angels2:

My '05 5.3 seems to run well...... I wonder what a 'tune' would do for me?
( I have no idea what the difference would be, and if I really need it?

I was running a 6.0 off of the factory 5.3 tune.

It ran fine like that for the most part.
But it did cut off some low-end power.
It felt like the old 5.3, but with a tiny bit more down low.
but I still needed to down shift a lot.
Good since it's a new transmission, it needs lots of those as things wear in...


Early on I ran with the tune from a Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0, even there I noticed a bit of power increase down low.
That said, I'm also running the camshaft from a 6.2.

I bet just tweaking those torque management calculations would help.
Many here have a bb tune on their 5.3 and noticed a bit of a difference.

I would love to get a look at the bb tune and run a compare against a factory 5.3 tune. :)

Thanks for the info..... Honestly, I don't see the cost for a little bit better?
If my Yukon would accelerate easier with less peddle, I would ponder the thought.
I was taught to use the peddle correctly.

My bracket idea for moving the tru cool back down to the bottom again, going to drill a couple holes in the flat bar and mount it with the skid plate bolts, kind of subjects it to the elements a little bit but I've had it down there already for months and had no problemsView attachment 374032

Did you cut out the front of the bumper behind the fake grill? Exactly how Im wanting to mount mine

yes, did that last time I had it down there, I tried to have it up top and to the side a little but that didn't work either, kept getting the engine hot so it's down below again a transmission is cheaper than a engine :shrug: the chrome piece comes off but you have to be careful the little clips break very easily I broke a few but it still stays on, then I used a fein multimaster tool with just the bracket on it and it cuts thru plastic like butter

Regular 87 & Stock(catback only) is junk! Only pulls .5g acceleration, so slow, and so numb.
This wasn't stalled up or anything, just matt the pedal.
