What does the cut-out do besides make it louder? Does it add power or better mileage or something?

I used a rag to clean the plate and around the bore. Cleaned all around that my fingers could reach inside. I used the sea foam spray since I didn’t have tb cleaner. That alone caused the idle to change before I even sprayed the sea foam in the engine. Had the wife try to keep the engine at 2k. She never touched the pedal the idle was so off.

It pretty much just makes it louder. I just like it because I can go from loud to stock at the push of a button. Like when the wife is in the truck, I have it closed, but as soon as she's gone I open it up and it's like I'm back in highschool firing up my old 56 Chevy.

One thing I miss about my Silverado is the straight pipe v8 roar. I had a glasspack on it but the weld rusted off and I never fixed it. I do like having a quiet tahoe in a way for trips with the family so they sleep, but I’m getting tempted to atleast chop off the resonator.

This weekend I installed new MSD coils to replace my stock coils with 224k on them. The burb seems to idle smoother and runs good. She wasn't running poorly before but would idle a little rough on occasion. :)

I also gave her a good once over as I usually do about every 6 months. Brakes looks good, need an upper ball joint on the passenger side, she needs new tires ASAP #facepalm Overall, she's looking to be in good shape in preparation for summer vacations and such. Hopefully will get the time to do upper ball joints before summer.

Got the oil changed at my local Chevy dealer. 59.95 for 6 quarts of dexos approved full synthetic and tire rotate. I do my own work but if I don’t have to get dirty and store used oil and still pay the same price I’ll take advantage of it.

The idle is still a little high but not too much. I think some more driving it will eventually figure it out.

SLP resonator delete is perfect for that! Looks very nice with the tips too.

Just as an FYI....chopping off the resonator will do very little in the way of adding extra noise or rumble. It'll definitely make everything look better but that resonator does almost nothing and makes no noticeable difference with regard to noise.

Good question. Same could be asked about the AFM system GM also installed on these vehicles. It, too, is a usually heap of garbage but yet there it is  :slap:

:D

I enter into evidence, from your own very words:

... that resonator .... makes no noticeable difference with regard to noise.

... also improves sound slightly by getting rid of it.

The resonator is designed to get rid of drone at certain rpms, like while cruising.

I deleted mine once upon a time but I ended up reinstalling it after completely redoing my exhaust and finding out it had an annoying drone at 60-75 mph... reinstalled resonator, no more drone.
