View attachment 222445 Had it towed because it and my fuel pump decided they didn't want to work together as a team anymore.

Been there with my previous SUV. It quit right after I filled it up. 26 gallons of gasoline weighs about 180lbs! I ended up letting a shop replace the pump since they only wanted $175 labor to drop the tank and do it.

I pumped mine out and put the gas in my other rig and my daughters car. Just need to pull the filler nozzle. Then the job is pretty easy.

LS-2. Stock on these models. The guy I bought the wheels and tires from had them on his Sierra 4WD. I guess he didn't go off-road much at all.
ya that's what I use out here in Cali, good road tires wet or dry, doesn't snow here, those should last you a few seasons.
The RS are the police issue but I don't know what the difference is they are rated the same, other than some of the RS are run-flat's and cost twice as much.

what I did to my tahoe is not wreak out with a ******* driver that was in a rush

I was on a two lane highway this dumb ass in a silverado almost caused a serious wreck trying to pass many drivers recklessly
he almost hit another car head on and nearly took me out with him with in a few inches of my rear bumper.

and to top it off he took the long way and I meet up with him at the short cut I had taken ( back road with same speed limit of 55MPH )
we ended up at the roundabout at the same exact time driving ****** does NOT get you anywhere any faster ......

only gets you to a morgue or in jail...quicker

Aren't those cladded chrome wheels with the cladding missing? Either way, I love the simple and symetrical look of them.

That they are. I've been working on them a little bit at a time for a couple months. Really, the hiccup that stalled the project for about a month was waiting for the center caps to come in from China, devising a cheap but solid way to make them snap in like factory and waiting an additional 2+ weeks for two replacement caps to come in because 2 of the 4 in the original shipment had a different mounting tang arrangement and size.

A six-spoke design just seems to go better with these rigs. These wheels have a much more sporty look, which is the direction I'm going with the Tahoe. They look out of place with the chrome trim. I wanted to swap speakers and install sound deadener when I removed the panels to change out the handles, but I don't have enough time for all of that. I'll probably just change the handles cuz it's really bothering me. Gotta paint those chrome mirror caps and grille, too.

the tires are the shoes and the rims are the socks

Eh. I've always viewed the wheel and tire combo as shoes, with the tire being the sole just as shoes have a rubber sole. You can have shoes re-soled (common with quality boots) when they wear out just as you can re-sole your car's shoes with new tires when they wear.

You know that part you removed was part of the Rim structure

Just like windshelds are part of the car structure (on modern vehicles )

What part did he remove that was part of the wheel structure? In that pic I don't see anything that was removed that was a part of the structural integrity of the wheel, but maybe I'm missing something. The part he remove is literally plastic cladding that was adhered to the actual wheel.
