Today I found a grounding strap that is going nowhere :
IMG_20241028_104344701.jpg

This is at the rear of the driver's side. It is still attached at the body mount bushing area, but I can't see where the other end is supposed to go ( Hello Wisconsin ! ).

Can anyone tell where this is should go ?

Thanks.

I can't get a good pic but it's attached to the filler neck. Follow the fill tube all the way up and there's a bolt there.

I got the wiper arms reinstalled on my 06 suburban. I took them off to paint since they were so faded. I also painted the 99 Silverado and my other 04 Suburban along with a rear arm.

I tried grinding off the little "stops" on the later style arms, thinking that would allow them to fold out like the early style, but that didn't do anything. Oh well, I tried, LoL.

Yeah, I need to paint my rear wiper and buy new "old style" arms for the front.

Nice work.

More crimes against Escalades. Go through all the trouble of chopping the roof but don't delete the wiper arm and i could be wrong but the cover looks like a stock pickup truck bed cover.

And today I reinstalled the repainted roof rack on the 06 which I repainted along with the wiper arms. The previous owner butchered the little mounting pads. The bottom drainage sheets on them were all missing and had TONS of silicone. So I stole the good pads from the 04 (project Suburban) and reinstalled them on the 06 (daily driver.)

I need to hit the wrecking yard to get some pads now for the 04.

I replaced mine with the older ones and it's so great to be able to pull them up and keep them off the windshield while I'm washing it. Or scraping frost and snow...
Excuse my ignorance, but whats the difference between the "old" and "new style " wiper arms? And what year did they change them? I'm guessing I have the "old style" because mine do stay in the up position when replacing the blades or cleaning the windshield. PS, I have a 2001.

2003? I have 2005 and mine wouldn't stay up. I replaced them with your models version. I also installed 2 drivers sides as the drivers side has 2 sprayers and passenger just one.

Yep, the old style stay folded up position. It's nice when you want to wash your windshield, especially on the lower portion where the wipers sit and trap dirt and stuff.

I had 99 (which do fold up), and 04 and 06. The later 2 don't fuld up, so I would believe 03 is when that changed?

Also, out of all those wiper arms, the passenger side had 2 squirters and the driver has one squirters. But I couldn't tell the actual arm apart from driver vs passenger. I marked them just in case. It's good to know they are interchangeable. :)

Here are the pics of the differences:

Finally installed my new tires
305/55R20 Bridgestone Dueler Ascent
Had to trim the liners, edges of the bumper attachments, and some of the rocker area to get complete turning radius. So far so good.

Finally fixed the mode door actuator and also took care of the DTC B3761. It has some idiosyncrasies in how it wants to be programmed… I wonder if this is sometimes misdiagnosed as logic lock up. More details below.
