What would the rear hvac have to do with water in the tailgate? There's no part of the hvac in the tailgate!
Draining out of the box into or under the carpet, and then out the rear door.

This is just how I'm understanding what he said.

Today I got frustrated trying to find '02 Escalade knobs for my hvac controls and headlight switch, so I ordered every control assembly off EBay. That's the headlight switch, dash hvac control and both rear overhead hvac controls. Total...$155. But then I'll sell my old ones and get most of that back. I might be crazy.

The rear air conditioning exchanger must be located in the right rear behind the trim panels. There is a nipple that drains water just above the exhaust.

Called my local Goodyear Service station (my cousin is the manager), and said I'm bringing it in tomorrow. Took the 315 Fierce MT's off and went back to my 285 Kelly Safari ATR's, felt a TON of play when I had it off the ground. Probably going to need new Pitman and Idler arms, maybe tie rod ends and a ball joint (or two.. or three... hell, do all four if it's all apart!). And check the whine under the hood, might need a new power steering pump, or water pump, or at the very least (if I'm lucky) a belt tensioner or idler pulley....

Yes that's where the rear hvac is located.

I did not know that...now I'll have to check mine! Did you just stick a wire in the hole?

This exactly. It was running under the carpet and dripping between the tailgate and seal.

Haha that would have been handy. One of the kids lost the straw to their slushie! It was a hasty fix I was gonna blow some air in it with the compressor tomorrow.

I think I found mine- is it a rubber thing that looks like an air release on a whoopie cushion?

That is as good of a description as I could come up with. I just squeezed it open and fished the straw through. Only needed to push past the body panel and boy did it flow.

@Red Rocket

Want to see pics of the old vs new knobs when you get them.

I got some LED's for the gauge cluster. Like the look, but I'm eventually going to get white ones. I plugged in my 6K map lights and it had the same factory blue and the needles were white. I had just the right amount left so I put them in my turd-gen
