Vortec 6000 6.0 liter ticking at idle

Hi i have a 2001 GMC Yukon Denali 6.0 its been ticking at idle only low rpm Higher RPM not noticeable what could be the problem oil always changed on i tried 5W30 oil and 10w40 SYNTHTIC BLEND oil with no change does anyone in here have same problem

Not really. I tried different ones on my 2001 YXL and it seamed best with full synthetic 10w-30. I used Mobil 1

Mine was doing that too.....2004 Denali with 203K on it, but ran like a top. I think its characteristic of the engine.

Next oil change, flush the engine or try a high detergent oil. Might have some gunk in them and need to be cleaned

put some seafoam in the crankcase a couple hundred miles before next oil change. half a bottle. do that for a few oil changes. see if itll get in the lifter and loosen up/clean out anything dirt that might be in them.
