Thank you for your prayers, the Lord heard them!

Everyone's surgery/procedures went off without a hitch. We have one of two weddings out of the way and our 25th wedding anniversary is coming up as well.

Weather is starting to cool and looking forward to making some passes down the quarter mile with the 3.73s. Daughters are tearing up their trucks, one slammed into a curb and the truck won't align properly anymore. Gotta see if she bent a control arm or three or the frame.

Well, get your ass out of that place before Thanksgiving…..

I’ll pray for your quick fix…..
Barely made it out before Thanksgiving! They kept me an extra couple of days because the wound hemorrhaged and had to take two bags of plasma to get back to normal.

I'm home, it hurts, spent two days sitting at my Dad's house for Thanksgiving. His ticker is down to 30 bpm and going to get a pacemaker this coming Wednesday.

Thanks fellas for the prayers and hope y'all had a nice Thanksgiving. We sure did.

My friend had a pacemaker “installed” a few months ago….. He told me, it’s not like in “the old days”……. The pacemaker ‘surgery’ was at an out patient surgery center, and he was out in about an hour. And left with a tiny scratch.

I remember in the early 1980s when my grandma got one. You could see the bulge near her neck under the skin. My father told me they are going in through his arteries again to install it. While calling family and friends on Thanksgiving, we learned that an old friend and my uncle, age 90, both have had the new kind for years and are doing great.

My Yukon takes a few moments to build oil pressure, the lifters are rattling when she first starts up and then it settles down. Pressure is about 18-20 psi hot and in gear at a light. I bought all the stuff to change the o-ring but not 100% certain that is the problem. Second guessing myself. It's like the pump is losing prime but I guess that could be the o-ring.

My son-in-law blew the transmission in his 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. That one was built for performance and cost $9k. It's trash and out of warranty. Rather than rebuild it, he bought a 2013 2500HD Denali pickup and picks it up this coming Tuesday. Seems like a cream puff with only 89K miles and no gooseneck or tow mirrors. Checked out fine with the Tech-2.

My father is going in tomorrow and will be released Friday. They are going in through the groin arteries again to install it.

Took a ride in my SILs Duramax and it is in great condition. Ought to provide years of reliable service if he does his part.

Groin area? Huh…. My friend didn’t have to donate his groin area for his pacemaker….., and the procedure was only 3 months ago.

That may be where they go in with the cameras. He just got out of surgery and is resting. His heart rate is at 60 bpm, it's been in the 30s for months.

I'll find out more later as I'm curious too.

I didn't get to ask. He came through alright but he's not the same. The lack of oxygen knocked him down a few rungs on the ladder it seems and he's yet to recover.

Throughout 2025 the truck began rattling on start up, no oil pressure for the first few seconds and then it came up and the lifters quieted down as they were finally pumped full of oil.

With all the weddings and holidays out of the way my son-in-law finally had time to get after it. He's fast, before I knew it the truck was in the air and the front diff was put in the garage. The next day he dropped the steering rack and pulled the pan. We drilled out the two rivets and he cleaned the pan inside and out, replaced the drain plug, the pressure relief valve and installed the oil deflector. The o-ring broke as it was removed from the tube.

There was an accumulation of gunk near the oil drain that restricted the flow of the old oil from draining from the pan. Those hardened pieces were scraped away. Other than that there was nothing of substance, no timing chain tensioner parts either!

I've only driven her a few miles, the pressures were higher than I remember (not saying much with my memory) especially when cold, but seemed to drop down to just above 20 when hot at a traffic light in gear. No more rattling on start up. Will test that out again tomorrow.\

The last photo shows the relief valve not screwed down yet. It was screwed down so that little hole is now under the shield where it's supposed to be! Both the old and new valves tested out just fine.

Has anyone's truck come from the factory with these? My pickups have them, the Yukon XL does not.

These are dust covers that fit on the hub and cover the front spindle nut if you have a 4x4. The new design CV Axles have a dust shield on the other side so that alone ought to extend the life of the hubs. Thoughts?

I bought them for the Yukon last year and keep forgetting to put them in at the next tire rotation.

I first thought it was a UFO……. ( Now the government claims it’s discontinued like a UFO ? )

Oil pressure has been great, no more rattling on start up.

To change the oil pan gasket the rack and pinion bolts were taken out and let it hang to get enough clearance to pull the pan.

I forgot to put the anti-rotation pin to lock the steering wheel before loosening the rack. As a consequence, after all was done, the wheel was cocked to the right, enough to block the fuel gauge.

So that got old real quick! So tonight we put the truck up on the ramps, wheels perfectly straight and then loosened the rack and pinion bolts again. Then we put the steering wheel straight and locked it into place with the anti-rotation pin. Then my son-in-law tightened the rack bolts while I made sure the tires didn't move. They didn't.

Once all was said and done we took her for a quick drive and the wheel was more or less straight again. I'll get her out on the highway tomorrow for a better check of steering wheel straightness.

On to the next project!
