So I changed the transmission oil and filter last night and did step by step like the book says.

Well this morning I get in to go to work and it's making a clanking type noise and I have no clue why..

Sounds more like two pieces of metal sliding on each other.

Anybody have any clue as to what it could be???????

I just drained the tranny and pulled the pan and filter off. Then replaced the filter and put the pan back on. Then put tranny fluid in it.

Would that make a noise that gets faster as a speed up?

Probably oil not getting into the components until it started and is now lubricating everything correctly again

I believe this was the problem. I just kept adding fluid as I drove it and stopped. It went away and shifts smoothly now!
