If you read the "marketing description" it lists it as multi disc.

Here is another. There is also a .pdf in this website.

Neat, it also says this...

  • High-quality Schaeffler friction material ensures long life, suitable for continuous slip apply strategy in the 6L family of applications

That makes me feel better, because I like retaining some slip.
Please give us a review after you've spent some time with it!

Replaced the torque convertor with the LUK 0017 from Carparts.com with 3 year warranty.
6 hours on a saturday and 6 hours sunday wrenching.

put 2 quarts into new TC and almost 2 more quarts into transmission afterward.
no more slip, shudder & did have the ecu flashed for DOD & tcu flashed for lock up in 5 & 6.

saved over 1200~1500 for the TC swap.

yes, did the thermostat delete mod..150 or less all day..
Hmm, I don't have any data to support my thoughts, but...I would monitor your oil and get a few samples before you keep this setup long-term.

That 50-60 deg drop in coolant temps should affect the engine block and how the cylinders expand. The piston will still get hot, but if the block doesn't follow the same expansion as it's designed, I could possibly see increased wear as well as increased fuel dilution.

I would at least get a few oil samples done at 2k, 3K, and 4K and see how the oil is holding up. Personally....for street driving, I'm a fan of the stock thermostat.

Curious to why you went with no stat?

I hope what @jaxscuby is referring to is a TSB/mod to reduce/delete a tranny thermostat, not the engine thermostat.

I just received my order for a Luk Torque converter for our 08 Denali with the 6L80 trans. Going to replace the rear main seal soon so ordered the new Luk TC. It sounds like a nice converter. I read one add stating it can handle 1000 ft pounds of torque? That should be plenty. Glad yours has worked out well.

Edit: converter installed, feels stock, works perfectly so far, only 3 days driving but I am happy with it.
