I did a job today. It was an 07 Yukon with only 112,000(no pics:oops:). Steering wheel needed some color.

This is what the color should be--Titanium Gray. It took me forever to tape up the steering wheel. I tried taking out the airbag so I could take off the inserts instead of taping everything. I tried 45 mins! Said F**'it.

Looks great. What did you use to color it?

Thank you guys, I appreciate the kudos.
Mark--I buy my supplies from the school I trained at in Michigan. I know they buy it from different sources and put their own label on it, but I don't know who made it originally. It is water based and I apply it with a mini spray gun--what you would use to paint a car. Once I spray it I have to use a clear gloss coat which will seal it.

Overpriced at $9.95 for 4 ozs tho.

Do you know what the FF injectors size is? As compared with the 8.1L @ 44lb? What about stock 6.0? Any difference between LQ4 and LQ9?

Sorry for the hijack @Tony. [emoji16]
FF injectors are 33lb.. 5.3 and 6.0 share the same 28lb injectors. The difference in the lq4 and lq9 is the lq9 has higher compression.. i wouldn't risk the stock injectors with a cammed 6.0. I would stay in under 80% DC is possible.

Thanks so much for the details! Looks like the 8.1 injectors are quite handy..!

You pay for the credit to tune it that ECM. If I tuned my car with HTP and then sold it to you, you couldn’t hook up your HPT software and tune without buying the credit. You purchase the credit for VIN number and ECM you tune. It doesn’t open the ECM for tuning by any Tom Dick or Harry with HPT.

You are 100% right I totally forgot I had to turn in my Gen 1 so they could program the new one to have licenses for everything I've tuned with it.

New dilemma:
When you're really getting on the gas it kind of sounds like it's breaking up a little bit. It doesn't sound bad but you can hear it. There is no check engine light coming on. When it's in park and you rev it it sounds fine, it only does it when you're driving and you get on it a little bit. I just noticed it today, also doesn't seem as fast as it should be. I asked my son about it and he says maybe a clogged injector. Possibly plugs or wires? Opinions anyone?
Also--keeps throwing the belt. I just remembered--when I went with a higher amp alt the stock belt was too small. I was thinking maybe this one stretched some so now there's more play in it then there should be. Shouldn't the idler take that slack up?

you you ever look into whether or not this new engine had the same injectors? if they are different you could be running lean and its KR you feel pulling timing making it feel slow or weak.

knock sensors dont work till the engine is warmed up, so in theory if it feels stronger when it cold still shes got knock for some reason.

Didn't you get the right belt to match the upgraded alternator? The belt tensioner can take up only so much slack, but if the belt was too small, the tensioner would be too tight.
