Aren't drop shackles for leaf springs?
May be the wrong terminology. It’s what I’ve always called it though; it’s used to drop the location of the shock, and another to drop the location of the lower trailing arm. Pic attached of the trailing arm shackle

I still have my sensors and whatnot. Did you keep the factory air shocks, or did you retrofit bags?

If you kept the factory air shocks, I'm assuming you're using a 4" drop shackle?

I do have the axle relocation brackets similar to the ones pictured.

I researched and found an aftermarket air shock with the same collapsed/extended length as the Belltech drop shocks and ran those.

They rode nice, my only complaint was if you get into a situation where there is a repetitive bounce, like when coming off of certain bridges, they were softer than I liked.

Pictures as promised. This is with the axle sitting at ride height.

Here’s the clearance on the diff cover. It’s around .200-.250

View looking up, top of picture is forward.

Good to see you tinkering KW.
Always tinkering brother! Work has just been nuts, so I haven't been posting much. I'm about to tear my front suspension apart again. I finally figured out the issue. The front coilovers' struts are too short, which is why I had to crank the spring perches up so high. I'm going back to OE spindles with the coilovers, which should resolve a lot of the issue. Hopefully it resolves the RF wheel jutting outboard, too.

Installed my Improved Racing thermostatic trans outlet and the smaller Derale 10-row instead of the TruCool 40k.

Hard to say if it’s “better” since it’s been under 40° here for quite a while.

I will say, with the 40k installed, sans radiator loop, I wasn’t even achieving 100° trans temps on my way to work. Now I’m able to achieve 170°, allowing for moisture to evaporate from the ATF.

Once it warms up in May, I’ll know whether the Derale is enough to keep up with high ambient temps and a 3200 rpm stall.

I have a Derale in my setup with a 3k converter, and it works great. Trans gets warm enough but never hot. Stays under 200°

Which one?

This one is rated 20k BTU.

I’m hesitant to believe it will keep up. Around town driving I’m already climbing over 200°. It drops rapidly once there is airflow over the cooler, but any type of stop and go stuff raises it quickly.

I’m going to order some stainless braided line and re-route the lined once I get some time. Currently they are routed past the exhaust on the driver’s side with heat sleeve over them, and I think that’s a contributing factor.

You may need to tune the electric fans to kick on earlier like @ 180*.

It was part of a complete cam build kit I had bought years ago for my 03 from a shop. I looked but I can't find which one I bought. Sorry.

The 6 speeds run the trans cooler on the driverside?

No. The factory hardliners were ran around the passenger side. I ran all new rubber with heat sleeve around the driver side.

I need to order 40’ of stainless braided stuff and an assortment of AN fittings and make some permanent lines, routed better.

Hey remember when I said I needed to re-route the cooler lines? :banghead:

Saturday we took my step-son to the Wolf Sanctuary, about 40 miles from home. On the way back, I started seeing smoke behind me and pulled over.

Tranny line--wrapped in DEI heat sleeve--had shifted over slightly and was rubbing against the tail of the stud from manifold to crossover pipe. It rubbed JUST enough to make a pinhole and spray ATF all over the undercarriage, exhaust, and COVER the entire rear.

I spent Sunday re-running new lines. This time I went above the transfer case, then against the splash-shield, and straight up. Pics incoming...

Finally got around to having the new TPMS sensors installed.

Here's a fun one...they work fine right after programming; as soon as I power the truck off, they lose programming.

Remotes work fine and never lose sync.
