Would a V2 work like a Tech2 does? I have EFI Live in my DMax loaded with a V2.

I bought one of those vcx tools for gds2 for my ss. Also came with tech2win. Would this work with this truck?
Yes but when I was looking at these I remem something about it not being able to do everything a physical tech2 can do

Got mine from ChinaCaDiags for $281.06 w/ the case last Mo. It took about 9 days to arrive.

My dog chewed part of the box down to the case so yes, the case is worth it.

if you get the vxdiag when you go to install the software turn off any virus or security software and disable windows security functions or it will just flag or delete files during the install and it will be a pain in the dick
Do I have to leave the anti-virus off or can I turn it back on after the software installation?

you should be able to turn it back on, I installed it on used tablet that I bought just to use for the scanner so I just left it off

No one posted this but is very important. Tech2win on the vxdiag requires a 32bit OS not 64bit. 64bit works only with the gds2 but not tech2win.

I tried mine out today, but I think, MAYBE the candi module might be bad.

I tried running trans codes for my work van. Kept getting this.
I scanned 1st without the module between the tech 2 and obd. I did get engine codes, but no trans codes. Then with the candi module in between. Is the candi needed to get the trans codes? I tried getting the tech 2 to test things--wouldn't do it. Am I doing something wrong? And how are you supposed to know what designation to use for the vehicle?

The red screen looks weird

When the Tech2 first boots up, it does a bunch of self tests listes on the screen. Do they all pass?

the vehicle selection goes by the vin code, I don't remember what position it uses on my 03 silverado it wasn't what is was supposed to be, anymore I just guess there is only so many choices and when you select one it usually list's some vehicles if your vehicle is not listed then just backup and go the next one
