started debadging

I started the day off detailing my Hoe and very sooned turned into debadging. I couldnt stand side pieces anymore. I found out that using high strength fishing line between two screwdrivers works great....and now to the adhesive removal... yay! Truck looks great already and cant wait to see it done. I remember reading somewhere that goof off works the best. Am I right?

i used goof off and a rag, took about an hour. others say the 3M adhesive wheel thing works better, you just roll it on the adhesive and it'll come off

ok, Ive run into an issue. I used goof off and got most of the adhesive off of the pass. side and havent even started on driv. side but now I have a haze that I cannot get off. Ive used an intermediate swirl remover polish and a fine swirl polish and still no luck. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what was your remedy?

its called an Eraser Wheel it works wonders! i used it on my 94 s10 blazer that had those gay stripes down the whole side. just dont be an idiot with the eraser wheel. i saw a guy push super ******* it and burn straight thru the paint but he was a dumbass lol


as far as the haze, does it feel like its ontop of the paint? i would say use a medium cut compound with a buffer if you have one. if you dont have a buffer try using wax and see if that helps. otherwise it could be the faded paint

i had the same problem on my 95 when i did hate to tell u the bad news but had to paint it ... i did it from the bend downthis way you dont see were the paints blend as much

its gotta be the goof off cause I didnt rub it hard at all. The thing that gets me is that everyone said to use it

The same thing happened to me. Don't know what it is but I didn't use that goof off crap so that's not the cause. The 3M eraser wheel got it off but it's kind of a pain in the ass because the wheel only touches a small area so you miss spots and have to keep going over it.

Don't worry man, it could be worse. I removed my trim and the chrome rocker panels that were on my truck when I bought it so I had patches of that haze shit all over the lower part of my truck.

Ok. So I found out Napa had a 3m stripe off wheel (Im assuming its the same as the eraser wheel) and for $40 it was mine. Brought it home and tried it out....It to took a little while but after going back over it with some XMT ultra fine swirl remover and a CCS polishing pad everything came out pretty good....no new paint job for me. Thanks guys for the input!

When I used goof off to do the back badges, I noticed the haze, to me it seemed like a combination of the glue and such being smeared around, I used a multi surface de-greaser and it seemed to go away, a wash and a wax and mine'll look good as new, or better XD

ya i've noticed when using goof off on paint that it will react with whatever else is on there even if its just been washed and cause this haze. a simple good wax will take it right off tho

Well...its not 100% gone. Its just not as noticeable. I didn't realize this till the sun hit it. I've cut the clear coat ,polished and waxed and its still there kinda. You wouldn't know unless you were looking for it...all and all I'm happy though. I will post final pics later...gotta clean my wheels first.haha

When I debadged a few weeks ago, I used the citrus based goo gone stuff. I was afraid that goof off might be too tough on the paint. I was actually surprised how wehn the citrus stuff removed to glue.
