So you put in the knock sensors you bought, right?so my wI've was driving to work in the tahoe today. I told her all the stuff to keep an eye on. oil drips, oil burning smell, oil pressure gauge, oil lights ect. she calledencouraged in a panic, and told me the oil like came on.. I had her check the dip stick, and it was full. I was like crap. your only 5 miles from the house, drive home. I left work, came home and it was a cel for the knock sensor... haha oh you!
So how much was this thing when you bought it?No, I'm doing one thing at a time. I want to go through it and do one thing at a time so I can note any reactions, and what I did to cause it.
The knock sensor will be going in soon, as it's come on a few times now. I wasn't sure if it was coming on due to the sludge, or if it was just faulty.
tranny service some time this week, along with the diffs, and T case.
still working on that fuel filter.
the brake fluid is pretty nasty.
coolant system needs a flush.
TPMS sensor needs service. I'll have to take that in to a tire shop.
Then I move on to suspension, which I knew needed a refresh. It's creaky, and clunky.
$8K OUCH! See that Black 05 Yukon Denali to the left... I paid $2500 for it and drove it home. The frontend was shot and the Throttle Position Sensor was acting a fool. Around $500 later and she runs like a champ. I rebuilt the whole frontend bushings, tie rods, idler/pitman arms,
ball joints and all. I might end up having to replace the steering gearbox if I cant adjsut the slack out of it.

Don't forget the rtv beads when you do those sensors.
10-4. Just curious considering the work it needed.I think we paid 8k, plus tax.
I knew it needed tires, suspension work, stepper motors when I bought it.
whenever I buy a car, I change all the fluids regardless if they are up to date or not. So I don't count the cost of fluid into my price.

Cordell. Where are you from? I've have a few vehicles try and flip out theirYou try the H2O on the fuel filter nuts yet? If you're getting a single knock sensor code you may be in the clear driveability-wose for quite awhile - best to work on the more pressing for sure. When you do get to them I sealed mine in an 01 yukon about 75k ago with layered LIQUID ELECTRICAL TAPE all the way around including the harnesses - WAY better than RTV and it lasts forever. Good luck with the build, i'll check back for updates.
I bet running some Kreen for 500 miles will finish off those chunks.
Over the years I've added a quart of kerosene to my sludged up engines and let them idle for about a half hour and then drained them with good success. DO NOT drive them with the kerosene in them though as it reduces lubricity somewhat.
When its done throwing up....I wonder when the chunks will stop.
