This is the only one I’ve found so far that looks like it will work. They don’t list specs though like size or inlet/outlet sizes or even if it comes with a lid. I’ll call them tomorrow and ask. My fix failed, the JB Weld isn’t sticking to whatever the tank is made out of. It’s leaking even unpressurized, worse than originally. I need 3/4” inlet and outlets and the original tank is about 8” x 3” x 5”. I don’t have much more room than that. This is the Canton CAN80-233S that @George B linked.

You definitely need an aluminum expansion tank. I used to do a lot with Mitsubishi Evos. Had lots of cooling issues when we ran half sized radiators to stuff bigger turbos in there. This may be some help. There are a few that you can just weld different AN bungs in to get the desired sizing.

Looks good. A little more than the POS shit design replacement that Whipple wants to sell you, but I’d be willing to bet you wouldn’t need to replace this one in your lifetime. [emoji106][emoji16]

Why is it none of these list hose sizes or capacity or dimensions? I’ll have to call.

Bingo. I searched for “Whipple intercooler expansion tank” and this one came up- looks like an exact replacement including the mounting tab and inlet/outlet locations and angles. It says for 05-09 Rousch and Whipple but I know the 03-09 Whipple are the same kits so it should work.

And...if you spend 1299 or more, you get 100 bux off
Awesome. Where’s my wish list....:)

I ordered the black one off EBay from a seller that says it will be here in 3-7 days. Everybody else including Jegs and Summit said more like 2 weeks. Plus they have free returns in case it doesn’t work but I’m sure Whipple used the same tank with all their kits and just made different mounting brackets. Ok so it was $188 instead of $125 for my “discounted price” on the stupid plastic tee but I feel that’s money well spent if it does replace that pos plastic tank. I like the tank way better than that tee.

Definitely. The two don’t even compare. Of course it’s worth a bit extra. Aluminum > plastic.

The intercooler tank came in. When I bought it, the ad stated the standard cap fit. Which I thought meant the cap from the Whipple tank. Not so. I went to the Canton Racing site and looked up the tank in their catalog. Lots of nice stuff in that 96 page catalog. They recommended their billet cap, 81-236. I looked it up on Amazon....$68.20. For a coolant cap. I looked in the Canton catalog at other tanks that called for that cap and saw some said a 99-14 stock F**d cap fit so I headed to Oreilly and asked for a 2010 Mustang coolant tank cap. Perfect fit, plus it has a big M (for Mark I assume) on it. It’s only a tiny bit of red so I figure only +2 hp. Anyway, the tank is a perfect replica of the plastic POS but it’s awesome instead of shit. The bracket fit perfect, the hoses fit perfect. And the cap was only $5.99 but I had a $5 rewards coupon so it cost me .99 instead of $68.20. I feel like I won this battle. Fffffffff off Whipple.
