Restoring headlights

Those of you who have restored headlight lens covers, please advise me of the best products and/or methods for restoring the lenses on my06 Escalade. I'd prefer to go with new assemblies but I really dislike the look of the Halo LEDs and I can't find any that use a L or U bar LED configuration like those available for newer model Escalades. I am hoping a maker will one day come up with a similar style for the 02-06 Escalade. Meanwhile, I want to clean up these OEM headlights to as near new looking as possible. So, any of you who have restored faded headlights to like new condition, I'd sure like to hear from you. I'd like to know what products and and methods you used. Thanks.

I always just use a buffing compound. If they're really bad I will wet sand first with 1000 grit followed by 2000 grit, then buffing compound to bring the shine back.

After you have used whatever product you use, be sure to go back over them with an automotive clear coat. Duplicolor in a rattle can from O'Reillys works fine. If you don't they will fog back over much quicker. Usually a couple months time.
