Brand new top and bottom valve body assembly , I opted for new parts . I will keep original body and do Zip Kit for spare , or for resale .
70.000 on it .
Symptoms ? 4th gear torque converter lock up delay , about 100 rpm ..
And …I broke pin 14 on final installation ‼️‼️
Driving high performance Nissan Altima SR rental for now ☹️☹️☹️
Probably looking at new TCU

Success ‼️
Tomorrow mobile programming .
One advise , make sure you have quality tools , especially E12 external torx plus , not some cheap harbor freight, it’s not worth the hassle and high pressure ☹️☹️
Magnet look clean in 70.000 miles and 3 oil changes
I forgot … I have trans thermostat to do tomorrow

Any advice on how to not possibly break pin? Looking at doing this same job here in a couple months.

Yea … remove connector reducer with plug from transmission housing , be four installing valve body , you can replace 2 O rings while you there .
And reassembly …gently , it need bu pushed hard all way in and locked .

Your talking about the rubber/plastic sleeve that keeps oil from getting in there right? Comes out after you pull the tcm connector and is somewhat keyed?

It is keyed , but some how I manage to bend a few pins
Your awesome you still took this job on. Good on you and good on you for sharing as well. What made you get a new valve body as opposed to just cleaning and putting back together?

with my transmission symptoms , delayed converter lock up , runs fine on Tow Mode (higher pressure) and no codes , i know the TCC valve bore are worn , zip kit is a bandage only , by installing plunger with longer body and adapting valve body bore not worn by original plunger .
and zip kit have a "O" ring , oil temperature and constant shifting ,for me its failure in long run .
new valve body are 3rd generation "updated" new part# , so we will see.
doing this job is like taking apart swiss watch , and putting back
